We chose to stay at the lovely and historic Nara hotel on the last night of our Japanese tour, so it seemed appropriate that we enjoy a slap up dinner at their elegant French restaurant to cap off our epic holiday. For the most part...More

This amazing hotel restaurant (frequented by the imperial family) harkens to a past that I'm not sure ever existed. The mix of history and cultures come together in a sweet wonderful way that doesn't seem to be part of this world. Is it from France,...More

There is a choice between a western breakfast or the Japanese breakfast you cannot go wrong with either one. The service is warm and meticulous.

We came to Mikasa just to try its famous beef curry, and it didn't let us down. The beef, the curry and the rice were all good, and most importantly, they were well integrated. The service could be improved but we care more about the...More

The restaurant has a romantic setting with nice glimpse of a pond. The food was overpriced. We ordered chicken cutlet and "boiled" fish. The chicken was very mediocre quality and fish had about 4 bites and very little flavor. The most shocking were the wine...More

Mikasa has two dining sections. The large, high-ceilinged main dining room is a striking mix of Japanese and western. The coffered wood ceiling, hanging lamps, and wood framing of the walls, doors, and windows are all Japanese. The tables, chairs, table settings are all western....More
