This is by far the best food after staying in Japan for 4 days. Their noodles and broths are delicious. They have a lot of choices for vegetables. The dishes are in very large portions and the prices are much better than the food in Tokyo.

This Chinese restaurant is located about a 3-4 minute walk from Hakone-Yumoto Station. The restaurant is crowded at lunchtime on weekdays and holidays, and although there are 40 to 50 seats on the first and second floors, the restaurant is so popular that a long line of customers forms every day. The second floor has table seating as well as tatami room seating. Although the building itself has been restored several times, the exterior and interior of the building still have the modern atmosphere seen in cafes of the Taisho and early Showa periods. Since its founding, the restaurant has been committed to handmade, homemade noodles, and you can observe the noodle-making process from the storefront window. On the other hand, the dishes served, while varied, are many of those found in other Chinese restaurants. The appearance and presentation of the dishes are not eccentric, and neither is the seasoning. The prices of the dishes are neither too expensive nor too cheap. The popularity of this restaurant lies not in its unusualness, but in the fact that you can enjoy simple but well-prepared dishes with peace of mind. Although it's Chinese cuisine, each dish is not too heavy and can be easily consumed by a single person or a small group. Of course, it's also possible to share the dishes with a large group. One of the charms of this restaurant may be that you can enjoy the dishes in various combinations, including toppings.

What an amazing ramen here, home made in traditional style by bamboo and you can tell the taste if the authenticity of the noodle as soon as take it into mouth. So good !

Off the main road and favoured by locals. Good servings and friendly service. A good, cheap and tasty meal. Handmade, homemade noodles. Happy hour for drinks from 5pm to 7pm. Good value.

When everywhere else in the area seems to close rather early (we were turned away by other places at 5:30) this place opens until 9. We tried some mixed starters before we had a big bowl of noodles each. The staff were all lovely, and were happy to supply us with what may have been their only English menu, and humored us with our rudimentary attempts to speak Japanese. Fed three big appetites, including four (alcoholic) drinks for about 5500Yen. A really positive and friendly place, to which I'd happily return.

Stumbled on this ramen restaurant while visiting Hakone. A litttle off the beaten path, one street over from the Main Street through Hakone. We had a short wait for lunch but enjoyed watching the ramen maker use the bamboo pole to make the ramen. We ordered a set lunch, with pot stickers and ramen. Very delicious.

Went here for dinner and the service was excellent. They have a happy hour from 5-7 where a selection of drinks are half price. We had Katsu don, ramen and gyoza. All were incredible, I really recommend sharing the gyoza. Staff were great and the food was excellent, I really recommend going here.

My friends and I (from Australia) just ate here and it was incredible. We each ordered the Japanese Curry dish, along with two sets of gyoza and a set of spring rolls. Each dish tasted amazing, and you could really tell from the incredible flavours that everything was home-made. Even the chilli oil was home-made by the owner! The owner and all of the staff were incredibly friendly, and service was excellent. We would eat here everyday if we stayed in Hakone longer, and it is definitely one of the best meals we've had in all of our time in Japan.

One of the best ramen restaurants in japan! My partner and I ordered ‘meat noodles’ ‘cha shoa’ and fried wontons. Everything was delicious. Huge servings of ramen and really good price (800yen per bowl). Friendly/helpful staff :)

Akira is very nice and friendly! Ramen and sauces are homemade, rice is good and ginger ales too! Ramen with pork and fried rice are the best ones we’ve tasted.

We ate a late lunch in town when a lot of other restaurants were closed. This place actually had a wait, so we figured it had to be good. It didn’t disappoint, and we had delicious ramen, fried wantons, sticky rice, and dumplings. The owner was our server for the meal, and spoke pretty good English. He was extremely friendly, and you could tell he took pride in the food he was serving. He pointed out his favorites and let us know he made most of it in house (see gigantic bamboo rolling pin in window). He was definitely one of the nicest people we met in Japan, and I would go back just to see him. Food was probably 4/5, but the service makes this place a 5.

We came to Hakonē after our New Years celebrations in Tokyo just to have a couple days of rest before heading to Kyoto. We loved Hakonē and as always, we do our research on restaurants but always manage to stumble across a little gem, and this was definitely that! This restaurant is nothing to look at, off the beaten track and quite hard to find, but it's definitely worth looking for. We were just in the mood for a good ramen, and this ramen was what a traditional ramen is all about, massive bowls filled with everything plus little gyozas & dumplings on the side. There was more than we expected but we left nothing! Highly recommend this place, more of a locals type of restaurant than a tourist trap but the staff were more than helpful
