In a cod heavy raining day, I went for the 成田山公園. The hot sweet red bean cake was just a perfect refreshment. The red bean is well-cooked. One of the best I've ever had in Japan.

Saw the Trip Advisor decal at the front window, plus it had a line-up --- I figured it must be good. I tried 2 varieties, white, and red bean fillings. Tried these cakes on my first visit in '98 and absolutely loved them. I try to get to this place everytime I'm in town I especially enjoy watching them being freshly made and served to order "hot". This shop is located on the left as you walk from the JR station toward Naritasan temple. Two kinds of cakes filled with sweet bean paste. The brown beans are azuki and the white beans are just called "white". The azuki bean paste has a bit more texture but both are delicious. They are hot from the griddle when sold.... More
