Sincerely, this are my second choice, my 1st plan are go for traditional robata (difficult for foreign), they said today no business (the only things I understand). Toraya are more foreign friendly, have a staff that can speak English, multi language 'caution' (entertain fee charged, supply shell starter), menu with photos. We found this place through trip advisor and I'm so glad we went. The restaurant is in the entertainment district near hotels and the river. Its Hokkaido style bbq. Wow, this is a gem of a place. We loved finding it after reading some reviews, it’s a genuine, cosy and authentic place, with the chef and owner present there the day we went there for dinner. Kushiro is the home of Robata Yaki (Charcoal Cooking) and Toraya (lit. Tigers Place) is a great way to enjoy it. It is located near the river at the end of the restaurant district (across the road from the Paco Hotel).
