Stopped here for a drink after visiting the geisha district. They have a great selection of beers available and appear to do a tasting selection which others around us seemed to enjoy. Slightly pricey overall but a great place to stop after walking around the...local area.More

Go here for the great beer, not the food. Beer good, they ran out of food, so go early if you want food, or just drink heaps of good beer...

We ordered a selection of food and drinks (mainly beers). All were very tasty and service was quick and friendly.

Beers were fine, I had the green tea stout and it was nice but it was 800 yen for a small glass, I don’t think it was even a Steiner. Pizza wasn’t anything special at all and was 1300 yen for a VERY small pizza,...9 inches at best (seriously). Toppings were not special and mozzarella was poor quality. Everybody knows the overheads of pizza. You can’t charge that much without it being a good size and really good quality ingredients. Electric pizza oven. Full of western people, no locals. Loud, pretentious yanks and grating personalities. There was piss all over the toilet seat from the crowd in there and we left after one beer and sharing a pizza, 3000 yen later for 2 drinks and a 8 inch pizza it was a really bad decision. Kanazawa sucks and the gardens and palace area are seriously the only thing worthwhile doing. Omicho market and chaya district are both underwhelming and if you stay more than a day max in Kanazawa you’ll regret not moving on and going to somewhere worthwhile. Place is an absolute fortune and not worth the money in the slightest.More

Delicious simple food prepared quickly by a very talented cook. Particularly loved the fried chicken, fries and pizza. Beers good too. Can’t fault this place.

Good place to stop and recharge with a cold beer after wandering the local streets in the sun. Plenty of options on tap. Pizza oven was busy.

Just had half an hour to kill before the JR bus arrived, so thought we’d pop over and have a quick beer in the dry! What a treat! Lovely craft beer: the pale ale and the yuzu were lovely. Light and refreshing! Thanks!

Its true that there was only one local in the place the whole time we were there but the beers were various and tasty and the made to order pizza was some of the best we had over two weeks in Japan. Good for a...break from touring. I had two IPAs and liked both and my wife really enjoyed the Yuzu lager. The staff was very friendly. I'm a bit of a beer snob and I was impressed by the house made beers.More

Oriental Brewing is a nice, cosy craft brewery bar in Higashichaya, right next to the main historic area. Beer was good & it's a nice place for a rest and a drink after walking around Higashichaya.

After a walking tour of Higashiyama, we spied this place across from the bus stop and decided to give it a try. Good thing, it was very good. We had some gyoza for a snack and tried several of the brews. The gyoza were very...good, and the service was quick and friendly. We sampled a number of brews and they were all very dinkable. A good place to stop in and chill especially after walking around for a while.More
