My husband found this gem of an Osteria while we were in Fukui. The food was outstanding. Especially the prawns on a curry sauce with Basmati rice - so good!! The restaurant itself is not very big, so make a reservation if you want to...eat here. The menu is very diverse and made with love. Good wine selection too, and the chef even offered a class of Limoncello to my husband at the end, that was the icing on the cake! We had a fantastic weekend in Fukui; the weather was perfect and there was no crowd, but this dinner definitely made it all even better! Thank you so much, we hope to return one day! Grazie mille!More

Cozy and relaxed environment along the river and a nice view over the nearby hills. We’ve been hosted by Silvano the Italian way and it was deeply appreciated! We chose two different options of courses (meat and fish) both finger-licking good! The courses shear an...array of fixed entrees (antipasti), amongst them a fantastic light-bake slice of white polenta with mushrooms and seasoned shrimps topped with black truffles. Ended with Sbrisolona cake and a sip of grappaMore

This Italian restaurant is one of the best I've been to in Japan. The atmosphere is relaxed and relatively casual. The smallness of the restaurant itself made it so service and staff were fast, informative, friendly, and low stress. Not only does it have a...beautiful view of the river, it is the perfect place to see a sunset on a clear day. We chose a course meal (~5500yen each) from the menu since there were just too many delicious a la carte choices. Included was an appetizer, bread, pasta entree, seafood entree, and a dessert with tea or coffee. The wines are high quality and perfectly paired to the menu. Food is prepared by the chef himself, a friendly Italian man. He came out of the kitchen to chat with us as we were leaving. Overall, the experience was magical and I highly recommend anyone stopping in Fukui to spend an evening here. **Note for non-Japanese speakers: The menu is in Italian and Japanese only with no photos. That being said, if you have no allergies, one of the course meals will probably be perfect for you!More
