This is our 2nd visit to Yamamotoya Honten @ESCA Mall within 2 years. Service standard and food quality remain excellent. Enjoyed the chewy noodles in miso soup. Love the grilled cochin chicken on a stick too. What is more: they have free flow of pickles. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

Just arrived Nagoya, and this is a recommended restaurant around the hotel. Ordered 2 set of udon and they are a bit salty... Possibly the taste for Nagoya. Definitely worth a try but I am not a fan... :)

The ambiance outside is inviting. The place is clean. The food is okay, if you fancy udon. Overall, the place is fine for me but you can scout for other restaurants in the place if you have the chance.

Menu is small and focus is on miso nikomi udon: udon noddles cooked in miso broth. 90 years history aside, there are no vegetables on menu and people around smoke. Udon itself is good, but you can find similar places with wider menu (e.g. near APA Villa hotel which is near Marunouchi station).
