We, a family of three, visited the Elephant café for lunch. Before going to this place, I read the reviews and frankly there was only 1 bad review, what for me now is shocking. We paid 140 usd per person for this activity. We were aware...that you could feed elephants and we were told that the elephants were rescued nonetheless we were too naive not to see that this magestic animals work. They are trained every single day and yes with your payment your are allowing this restaurant to profit from the Elephants work. I interacted the most with the elephants and frankly I feel ashamed that I have contributed for this animals not to be left in peace. The area at itself it’s a beautiful area and it could be so easy for the restaurant just to keep the elephants in this area without training the animals and without offering the feeding option. When you encounter the elephants you have 3 to 4 trainers with long sticks that make sure the elephants behave. Just imagine a gigantic animal obeys this tiny little men. The whole purpose of training a beautiful, wild animal is just wrong. Nonetheless, the food was really good, the chef Adelina did a great job. Every single plate we enjoyed very much. Oliver the main waiter was also charming and very professional. The selection of wines was also very good. Would I come back for the food, for sure but never ever again for the interaction with the elephants.More

My grandson and I had a delightful afternoon at the Elephant Cafe. The staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and made us feel safe around the elephants when we were close up. We fed 2 elephants, Madena and Bob, acacia leaves which they eagerly took with...their trunks. The high tea we had was delicious and the entire experience was well worth every minute.More

We didn't know what to expect at The Elephant Cafe but this was so beyond our expectations! Our first trip to this wonderful country and this was definitely the highlight during the month we were there. To be able to feed and touch such a...magnificent beast was an incredible experience. We have so many wonderful pictures from our time there, we will definitely frame one to remember how special that day was and hang it in a prominent place in our home. I was actually moved to tears with the connection I felt to "our elephant"! If you are anywhere near Livingstone, don't miss this once in a lifetime experience. This is a memory that you will forever cherish.More

This was definitely one of our highlights of our first trip to Zambia. We were able to get up close with the elephants and feed them! The staff were the definition of hospitable and professional and we were greeted upon arrival with refreshments and all...of our hosts for the day. Since my husband and I came on our honeymoon during Covid, we were the only guests there that day. Unfortunately, much like the rest of the hospitality and tourism industry, Elephant Cafe has taken quite a hit in their guest numbers which is so sad to see. However, we were, therefore, treated to an extra private experience. After meeting the herd and hearing about all of their stories and hand feeding the two bulls, Danny and Bob, we sat down to a scrumptious meal planned by a Zambian Chef that was one of the best meals we had in Africa! Our server could be working in a michelin restaurant given how perfect his service was (my husband and I are both in the fine dining restaurant and event industry, so we know good service!) The view of the river and the hippos just made it all perfect. Finally, they had a professional photographer on hand taking pictures and videos which they sent to us the following morning. Absolutely incredible and a must for anyone visiting Victoria Falls!!More
