This was the 4th or 5th time we have eaten at Madam Lan’s and each time it has been consistently good food and service.
We had a party of 11 people and were seated promptly and ordered a variety of dishes.
It’s a great choice if you want to experience a wide selection of Vietnamese food in one place including street food, in an environment that’s not at all challenging for some of our party.
Madam Lan is reasonably priced and great quality food with friendly and efficient staff who are happy to give advice.
It’s a regular stop for us each time we visit Da Nang.

We have a fantastic family lunch at this local restaurant. After speaking with many local people, we were advised to try this restaurant and it didn't disappoint. Great vietnamese food, very reasonably priced, very busy but serving of food quick. Our waitress could speak and understand English so ordering and her recommendations was made easy. Would highly recommend this local restaurant to anyone travelling to Da Nang.

We went at the recommendation of our hotel receptionist and we were very glad we did.
It is along the upper end, along the Han River.
We didnt have to make reservations but the place was full house for lunch on a weekday. It is extremely popular with tourist and locals alike.
Try to get there before 12 noon to be assured of a table, as after 1230 it is quite full.
We were in Danang 3 days and ate there twice, both times the food was consistently good, waitresses were polite and attentive. Their food selection was wide and seemed representative of Vietnamese cuisine of both north and south region
We would highly recommend this place if you want to experience Vietnamese cuisine

Madame Lan has been one of the restaurants we have consistently visited on our regular visits to Da Nang over the last few years. We like the location, the mixture of indoor and outdoor seating and, of course, the quality of the food. As many other reviewers have noted, the prices are higher than similar types of Vietnamese restaurants but we were okay with this. We were not alone as Madame Lan was, for a long time, rated as one of the top 10 restaurants in Da Nang on Trip Advisor.
Our views have changed after our last visit. We, a party of four (two locals, two not), arrived shortly after 7pm on a Wednesday night and the restaurant was quite busy. We didn’t have to wait long for a table and made our order. One order arrived after maybe 15 minutes or so. We waited about another 15 minutes before one of our party enquired about their order. After going away to find out, the waitress came back, said this had been forgotten and they would have to wait a further 20 minutes. Another of our party then asked about their food. The waitress again went away to find out, returning to say this had been forgotten too. At this point we asked to speak to a manager.
This is the perfect opportunity to show the quality of an establishment by the reaction to a complaint and how they look to put it right. The manager’s response was to just, strangely, make excuses about ingredients not being available rather than trying to make amends. Well, we were not impressed. We cancelled the outstanding part of the order, paid the bill and left.
Madame Lan’s has grown over the last few years and expansion is not a bad thing if you maintain quality and standards. Based on our last visit these have fallen quite a long way and, again, we’re not alone. I looked at the latest reviews on Trip Advisor and saw that the restaurant is now rated 83rd in Da Nang with 30% of reviews being average or worse.
Creating a production line approach, where quantity of customers is a priority over quality of experience, perhaps works well with tour groups and visiting cruise ships but at the expense of the longer term returning customers and restaurant reputation.
When I looked at the restaurant’s replies to customers reviews on Trip Advisor, the irony was not lost on me, where there was a lower score the restaurant has, rather than seek to address the issue raised, employed a ‘cut and paste’ standard response to nearly all of them.
The competition between restaurants in Da Nang is strong. There are plenty of Vietnamese restaurants with better service and price to choose from. We will be spending more time at these in the future.

I’ve eaten here so much in the past few visits to DaNang that I thought it deserved a stellar review.
Hands down this place has a HUGE menu and its ALL absolutely delicious! From the fried spring rolls to the full boiled crabs this place covers it all With nice flare, great service and affordability. I’m a huge fan Of their seafood dishes and fresh noodle soups. You just can’t go wrong here for truly authentic local food. Please check them out you won’t be disappointed!!

Was asking the boss of our hotel that we stayed to recommend a Vietnamese restaurant and he strongly recommend Madame Lan. If you are in Danang and looking to try out Vietnamese food, recommend you to visit this restaurant. Restaurant is spacious, serving of food is fast and most important price is reasonable! The staff speaks good English too!

They serve the typical Vietnamese dishes but more exquisitely cooked and presented. Reasonably priced. The crab vermicelli and pho were my favourite. Clams steamed with chives and peanuts was an expensive dish but meat was too tough. It was a hot afternoon, restaurant was crowded. Without the air conditioning I found the dining experience unpleasant.

Madame Lan has a beautiful decoration which resembles Hoi An. It serves tourist food and you can find food much better in other restaurant of Da nang. Portion is small. Food certainly looks very different from the photos of the menu.

We booked a table for two the day before. The restaurant is lovely and we were given a great table at the front in a alcove breezeway.
The staff were very attentive and gave us three menus, though none of which were for drinks other than beer and fruit juices.
I asked to see the wine menu and chose a glass of a French sbs, my husband a beer. We also made our food order.
Shortly after, the drinks came. My wine was definitely off. It must have been open for some time, as it smelt and tasted pretty hideous. I had to spend some time to convince the staff that the wine was not going to be consumed and that bar staff needed to both smell and taste it and ditch the bottle.
When they came back, they then asked me to choose beer or a fruit juice. I said that I did not drink beer and would like to try another sbs. I was then told that all the wines were open and no good. I wanted them to then open a new bottle to give me a glass. That was not going to happen unless I bought the whole bottle. I don't think I have ever come across a restaurant that would not acknowledge it was their problem and offer the customer a glass from a new bottle.
Sadly, that set the tone of the night for me and I just ordered water.
I need to add, that the food was very tasty, but how I wished they had done the right thing and given me a glass of wine from a fresh bottle.
I/we left feeling let down by Madame Lan and wished we could give a much better experience review.

Restaurant was busy at all times. We had a relatively late lunch but the place is still packed. Fortunately for us, we had a short wait to get a table.
We had shrimps with salted eggs, fried rice, oysters, pancake, spring rolls, grilled squid and more. Food tasted good and is reasonably priced. Staff were nice and friendly though not as warm as those in smaller restaurants.

Great place to eat when in Da Nang.
The food was excellent, the service also.
We ate there probably 3-4 times in our short visit to Da Nang - that’s how great this place was!
Would highly recommend this restaurant, you may want to reserve a table as it can be very busy :)

This is by the river, and has an architecture inspired from Hoi An old town. My dinner here was nice, with local dishes and a couple of fusion cuisines, all come to the table with good garnish and portion. After getting full, I took a stroll long the waterfront park. Nice bridges to see at night.

We tried out this restaurant followed the review on Tiktok from a food blogger. The food is good, some dishes portion are not worth the price, for example the grilled chicken. We ordered 1/2 grilled chicken but the portion looks like there’s only 1/4 of a chicken. The Madame Lan grilled fish is truly a must try one, plus the stirring squid with pineapple. The Luk Lake beef we requested medium well but it too hard for chewing like well-done instead. The restaurant is an open space, no AC so it will be hot for lunch, but ok for dinner with fresh air. Design with lantern decorations bring Hoi An atmosphere. The location is just right behind the fireworks station. Price is a bit high for a local restaurant, it is more touristic nowadays as many travelers visit, not much local residents. Staff is not attentive at all, especially the girl that serve our table. She delivered the drinks but pour it all over the table and my friend’s clothes, no apology nor clean it after that. Very bad attitude, they are more focus on foreigners than Vietnamese. My tour guide booked the table under my name but the hottest apparently said there’s no table reserved under my name, it took 10mins to find out my reservation but then the table had someone else used it. Overall experience is not really pleasant except some of the food

Amazing food, great staff, very affordable. Those who say something else are either not familiar with great taste or are not willing to pay 20.000 VND extra for better quality food.
Try the clams with peanuts and the Vietnamese wine from Da Lat. Wine was a great experience for a european to try and tasted better than expected.
Just order anything that looks nice to you on the menu and you will not be dissapointed.
We were a bit afraid it was a tourist trap but it’s really not, just a great place with both locals and tourists.
