We really enjoyed this little pearl of authentic Vietnamese cuisine. One of the best Banh Mi in Vietnam, value for money that surpasses anything we have tasted before. Several specialties are served there at more than reasonable prices, we recommend their crispy spring rolls with marinated pork. We enjoyed this little pearl of authentic Vietnamese cuisine. This place is famous, and for good reason. The hecticness of ordering, the ladies making your food, and getting your sandwich makes you feel like you’re in a Vietnamese market. But the taste of the food makes you feel like you’re in a Michelin star restaurant. Sensational food at a low cost

One of two big brand name banh mi in Hoi An, the other being Madam Khanh, I set out to try both. Although I was initially slightly partial towards the latter, having a soft spot for the underdog and in consideration of a food blogger's review, after trying both, I have to agree Banh Mi Phuong did stand out slightly, although I can’t really put my finger on it. Perhaps Banh Mi Phuong had just the right balance of flavours. Or perhaps my sandwich was freshly assembled at Banh Mi Phuong whereas I was handed a ready-made sandwich at Madam Khanh. Having said that, don’t be swayed by reviews since taste is always subjective. Definitely try out both yourself and see which is your pick. That's the fun of it! There’s something to be said about Vietnamese culture/customer service? Whether at a place of interest or eatery, staff often seem to prioritise chatting or bickering loudly in Vietnamese among themselves, with nary a care for customers 😂

A bad attitude of the staff "Phuong Hoi An bread", my breakfast was sold by a person with bad manners, she thought that I exchanged money by buying bread, actually in her wallet I only have two hundred thousand dong bill, and I bought a normal bread for fifteen thousand to have breakfast and then go to work, when she pays, she thinks that I buy bread to change money, first allow I asked that ! her shop sells bread or the bank thinks I'm here to change money, somewhere I think the two hundred thousand dollar face value to go shopping is normal, I even went to buy a pack of medicine for fourteen thousand Vietnam, they still give me the change with a warm attitude, so you are a famous place in Hoi An but your manners and bad attitude when working in the service industry here have gone down a lot. a lot, I buy I pay and I don't ask at all, so I think you have let your staff, those people with bad personalities to represent you to communicate with customers, this has often brought you trouble. and I will definitely never buy bread here again, and also never introduce domestic and foreign customers to phoenix bread, if there is, I also advise them not to lose money and then receive a service. Okay so this hardly needs a review and is famous thank to the promotion of this wonderful local dish by Anthony Bourdain. They still have a photo of him hanging over the entrance. Up there with the beat in town and as at August 2023 only 35000 vnd for a delicious serve of tastes inside a crispy bread roll. Coconut coffee is good here also

If you're looking for an authentic Vietnamese sandwich while visiting Hoi An, head straight to Bánh Mì Phượng. This humble street food stall serves up classic banh mi bursting with flavor. The baguettes are perfectly crispy on the outside and soft and airy inside. They're stuffed with thinly sliced pork, pâté, pickled carrots and daikon, cucumber, cilantro, and chili peppers. The combination of savory meat, sour pickled veggies, and spicy chili is absolute perfection. The pork is always freshly grilled and juicy, never dry. For less than a dollar, it's one of the best tasting and most satisfying quick meals you can find in Hoi An. Be sure to get there early, as they often sell out by midday. Bánh Mì Phượng serves banh mi the way it was meant to be - an explosion of textures and flavors in every bite.

This place is famous because Anthony Bourdain ate here. Our guide took us for its eponymous reputation. The sandwich was excellent. Our guide believes they serve the best version of the iconic banh/sandwich because they control a myriad of the quality control elements: bread, meat, etc. My husband is a Bourdain devotee so he thinks is was great. It was a very good sandwich with tasty crusty baguette. Good stuff.

Such a Good place to have Banh Mi and local food in Hội An. Price is reasonable, from 35.000 vnd - 60.000 vnd, delicious food but sometimes it's very crowded. So you should go to this restaurant in early morning ( 6:30am - 7am) .

Really tasty Bhan Mi, good people, very friendly, very fast and great value despite it being popular. This is where Anthony Bourdain went, we expected it to be overpriced, but it was great value and extremely tasty. Well worth checking out, one of the best we had in Vietnam.

The reviews speak for themselves here. There was a relatively long line, as to be expected, but it moved pretty quickly and we only waited about 5-10 mins to get our food. There was also seating available upstairs to eat. The bread was so fresh, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, and fillings were delicious. We loved it so much that we tried to go again before leaving Hoi An but they had unfortunately run out of rolls for the day. So definitely make sure you go earlier rather than later!

I enjoyed this spot. Ended up here because of the Anthony Bourdain fame. Ate in house and did the recommended mixed with spicy and enjoyed it. Went back later after a day of walking around to bring back a spicy chicken and cheese to the hotel for about 1$. That may have been more aligned with my Western palate. Recommended stop.

Typical sandwich in Hoi An we got a mixed ban mih with meat and vegetables, really good, hot and spicy for 35k dong. You can feel the traditional nature of the place. I highly recommend it

We visited twice during Tet 23 and were served from their street stall rather than the resteraunt which was closed on our first visit but from the resteraunt on the second. First visit we were served tasty Banh Mi with pork and spicy sauce that were full and good value for the 30000vnd we paid. Second visit, still tasty but this time less well filled! All in all, good food for a good price; were they the best in Hoi An..? Not sure about that but we would eat there again.

Having tasted a couple of delicious banh mi elsewhere, we wanted to see if these were really worth the hype and in short, they definitely are! We queued for about ten minutes at around 9pm ( there’s always a queue but this didn’t seem too long) and had two different pork ones and a chicken one. All were so tasty and such good value for money as well. Would definitely recommend this place!

We wanted to try this place due to all the social media raving about it. People would line up just to get their banh mi's so early one morning I went to get my husband and I some. They were so, so, we have had better but look each to their own, everyone has their own taste pallets and what their taste buds are acquired to. These were just not for us. They rolls were filled decently so it is fulfilling.
