This was the worst meal we've had in the past 3 weeks. We didn't realise it was set menu and before we could process this fact, within seconds the food was already on the table and we felt trapped! I think it's their strategy to keep you there even though your instinct is to get up and leave. I wish... More

Don't believe everybodys reviews on this place. It is quirky and reasonably cheap but the food was horrible. The meat was tough and dry, the spring rolls the same and the vegetables very ordinary. The rice paper was cardboard. All in all the worst food we had in Hoi An, and we did have some terrible stuff. Don't bother, go... More

Firstly make sure you are very hungry before you go ( our big mistake) there is so much food for 120k each. The owner Mrs Be is so lovely as she is clearly passionate about her food. We had the pork and loved it! It is a set menu and the food is super quick but well worth the visit-... More

Bale well is cheap and cheerful. Unfortunately, you get what you pay for. We didn't feel that the place was sanitary at all and as two very clean people, this put us off our meal a bit. The team here were very helpful and happy to show us how to eat the rolls on offer but this restaurant just wasn't... More

I came here with a travel group and the vegetarian options were terrible. Noodles were dripping with oil and so were the pancakes. Whilst service was good, the food was not. Whip round not too far away for the best vegan banh mi instead for better food and fraction of price.

The owner/manager has a bullying approach, and the food was on the table before we understood that we had no menu to choose from. Yes, we could've gotten up and walked out but that didn't feel right either. The food was mediocre and the service harried and vaguely hostile.

Found this hidden gem after a recommendation from a friend. Location is a bit hard to find at night (down a alleyway). The experience is a bit hectic as food arrives in front of you as soon as you sit down. But it all adds to the charm. The food is amazing.

Down an alley off a main road, Bale Well is unassuming at first glance, apart from the full tables of delicious-smelling food and happy-looking customers. We were seated immediately in the garden and we ordered two locals beers. Be aware - there is no choice in what food you are given. Barely had our drinks arrived than plates of spring... More

Our Vietnamese friend took us here. I had seen the place in Hoi An a few years before but only saw a few tables near the kitchen area. What I didn't realise is that you turn left by the outside kitchen into a HUGE area for eating, bit like a hawker centre in Singapore. It is under cover so would... More

We were on a tour with 15 people in our party. Our leader booked us into the place, telling us we were going to eat street food. Glad we had him with us as this place is hidden away down some narrow streets. We passed the cooking area as we walked down the street, then turned left into a big... More
