An experience in itself!!!

Ate here last night after a recommendation from a friend who didn't tell us much except that we HAD to eat here at least once. So after hunting the streets for it and finally finding the hidden alleyway, we sat at the only free table in the place and got comfortable. Approximately 4 seconds later... read more

This place was a recommendation from a friend and the food was awesome authentic Vietnamese home cooked street food. They only serve at set menu which consists of two types of bbq pork, fresh herbs, steamed vegetables, rice paper, egg wraps and peanut dipping sauce. The staff shows you how roll a fresh spring roll and then dip it in... More

This place was not easy to find, it was located down a small side street in the Old Quarter. Luckily the night we visited there was a hawker at the corner pointing us in the right direction. When we arrived, the place was packed, but we were quickly shown to a table. Do not bother to wait for a menu,... More

This place is rated in my top 3 restaurants in Hoi An. If this is your first time, let me break it down. 1. This place is a no menu restaurant / one specialty restaurant. 2. You come, you tell the staff how many pax, you sit, you order drinks. Got it? Easy as. 3. The staff will bring you... More

I visited here with my friend as we were travelling the area. A must visit place I had read in a review. Wow what an experience. We sat down and tried to communicate with the staff that we would like a menu. But... There are NO menus in this place, so don't expect to choose what you want to eat... More

We went to Bale Well based on 2 recommendations - Lonely Planet and a friend who is a local guide. Wow. It is quite bizarre. Upon arrival you are shown a table and aside from ordering a drink, the food starts arriving. This is a set menu and the plates are brought quickly. Our waitress then came out to 'demonstrate'... Me and my friend were super hungry, walking down the street of Hoi An and remembered our receptionist greatly recommending this place. And about two minutes after that we saw the Bale Well sign and decided to eat there. We came in, spotted a table and in the same moment as we sat down we were served with beer and... More

The restaurant is located in the Old town Hoi An on the side street. They offer 'roll-type' food. BBQ pork on the skewers, fresh vegetables, sauces - all that the waitor teaches you to roll together - and what a yammi result. We were very hesitant at first, but never regretted the experience.

We had just eaten a banh mi and thought pancakes were like regular pancakes everywhere in the world. But they are NOT. We thought we can eat a pancake each and should be OK. Bale well only does pancakes. When they brought all the food to our table, we were confused and asked the wait staff how we should eat... More
