In a town full of incredible food, this one stood out. located just past the market, just before the ferry boats, this place also has a little more history than some of the newer places. Top of the list of must try's are the shrimp win ton (dry). Flavour was so good, our eldest even ate all the vegetables. The... More

Mr Kim who owns the place is lovely, he put music on for us, and showed us pictures, but the other lady who works there isn't quite as friendly.. Cheap as chips and nice view over the river, but there are plenty of nicer/cleaner places you can go in hoi an. The red sail just up the road is a... More

sitting directly on the promenade - enjoying wine and small talk with owner. Very cozy atmosphere - good to relax and calm down.

Probably on of the best places I have eaten in Vietnam. Food was awesome and relatively cheap. The owner was nice and usually played with card in front of the restaurant. I will recommend this place for sure.

This is a strange little restaurant recommended by a friend. We had fried rice and coffee on the balcony as we listened to French music. Not great food, certainly not the worst. The highlight is the view from the top balcony. I say the best in Hoi an because it's my favourite part of the river. While I was there... More

Dropped by after breakfast pretty early in the day was some Vietnamese coffee - it was very rich and authentic. Sat near the entrance and watched life by the thu bon river going on outside with French music playing in the background.

My wife and I are on a touring holiday in Vietnam, and our guide has wisely advised us not to wander too far off the beaten track -- for fear of getting some miserable tummy bug at a dodgy food venue. However, this morning we could not resist the river view offered by the aptly named Cafe des Amis --... More

A simple restaurant, with tasty food prepared by the owner Mr Kim. Photos of him on the walls when he was a young chef. We were asked to fill in a guest book which went back years. Many nationalities and lovely comments. He was able to pin point comments written by our nationality written years ago by looking at an... More

We needed a coffee after walking around in a huge downpour. We were warmly welcomed and given towels to dry off with. We had authentic Vietnamese iced coffee which is not available in all cafes. The atmosphere was so great with the music and Kim the owner that we returned for lunch later that day. I had the white rose... More
