I ate at Platan twice and had the same food both time (classic steak and fondant platan). In my view the quality was very good (4/5) and the prices were reasonable in general (40k som for a steak, but a relatively pricey 20k som for...More

I ate some of the best food I ever ate in my life here. I will not forget this place, everything was spectacular. The traditional soups were so good. Everything was 5 stars

One of the better meals we had in Samarkand, but we tried to return a second time and couldn't get in since we didn't make a reservation. The food is very good and they have live music at intervals. You'll need to take a taxi...More

Rich choice on the menu, but this restaurant is also chosen by locals for festivities. Oezbek parties can be cheerful (read "noisy and loud"). On the other hand, for a sociologist an ideal opportunity for observation ;-)

The staff was slow (although understandable as there were many tour groups), but the front greeter was very rude and told us there was no space in the nearly empty restaurant. The head waiter did serve us, and the testaurant did fill up, but it...More

Food is pretty good, it also has a great bakery attached. A bit out of the way but worth taking a taxi too. Lots of staff but somehow the service is slow when they are not busy. Oddly the service improves the busier they get.

I suppose we must be the exception as opposed to the rule but we did not come here as part of a large tour group or on the "reccomendation" of a guide escorting us here..... and as such i dont feel that one is as...More

A group of 6 friends had dinner at Platan. Nice and clean restaurant. We were not familiar with local dishes and sought advice of our server Azammat. His suggestions were very good and the food was excellent. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and...More

This very elegant restaurant located in the Russian town deserves its excellent reputation in Samarkand. Grilled vegetables and particularly the dolmas were very tasty. We had also lamb chops and a beef steak, both perfectly cooked at our request, juicy and delicious. They were dressed...More
