We always seem to have a hard time finding healthy options while traveling (potentially on purpose 😁). This restaurant had a bevy of healthy options and one of the best chai teas I have had. The split pea soup was very flavorful and the hummus...toast was a very large portion that could be shared. Would go back and my hubs still talks about the soup.More

This cozy little place hidden in one section of the Barrio Histórico, on the river, and with a gorgeous garden... has the best food in Colonia del Sacramento. Pork shoulder stew, curried chicken for lunch were perfect, and even if I am not a dessert person,tiramisu...or pear tart are delicious... we had to try them both ! Ah ! important ... coffee is also very good just like in Italy.More

The atmosphere was nice like in a privat home. Some cats run over and under the tables. Nice for the one who like cats, but in way of hygiene!? Food was nice presentated and most of our orders where nice and tastefull. But sadly we...had the bad surprise to find a heft gorge in the soup. The excuse was of the staff was fine, the boss was muss less empathic sadly. But in general it look like people like this restaurant.More

We loved the wonderfully warm, friendly atmosphere, the kind efficient woman who spoke multiple languages and the delicious food! We had a pulled pork sandwich and a salmon with brie sandwich too! Both were equally tasty... our view was of the small backyard and river....Muy rico!More

This is a place where you can let the time pass by and find yourself in an alternate universe, one of good books and slow music, delicious food and great vistas over the river that looks like an ocean. You can pet the resident cat....The pumpkin soup was terrific, as was the goat cheese fries with pears. The service is prompt and pleasant and the view.... Did I mention the cat? ...More

I walked past this place, it was closed, and I’m so glad I came back today for lunch. The food is simple but refined, the service prompt and friendly. I ordered the bondiola with barbecue sauce and stuffed sweet potatoes. It was delicious! There are...so many touristy restaurants in Colonia with so-so food and this is a delightful exception.More

We hadn’t seen reviews but we’re looking for somewhere for lunch that was not an identical tourist restaurant. It looked quirky and inside was a joy. We sat in the garden overlooking the sea. Delicious food, unhurried service and even made food that was not...in the menu to accommodate one of us. Was a really relaxed and lively spot. Highly recommended.More

Amazing food, beautiful ambiance, friendly Owner and efficient staff. We had our best meal in Uruguay at this little unassuming cafe. The Owner, who speaks excellent Ebglish, was very helpful with her suggestions. The menu was very well thought of, with many healthy options. Our...food was beyond delicious, and tasted very home-cooked. We sat indoors, as the dining table was more comfortable for having a full meal. They have outdoor tables facing the river for those who prefer to have just snacks, drinks or coffee. Beautiful view even from indoors!! The interior was tastefully decorated. We tried the famous Uruguayan Medio y Medio here, and the Owner offered us an "improvised" version - one with blended strawberries in it, which was so delightful. The drink was so "innocent" in taste (like fruit juice), but we were both very light-headed after that!! Upon finding out that we would be returning to Buenos Aires after our trip in Uruguay (and will be staying at San Telmo), the Owner, who is an Argentine, recommended us to try out the food at a restaurant called Caseros at San Telmo, which we did. We had our best meal in Argentina at that restaurant (I will be writing a separate review here for that experience). I couldn't recommend this place highly enough!! I would go back to Colonia, just to have a meal here.Thank you, Owner (sorry we didn't get your name), for the fantastic hospitality and meal!!More

Beautifully set on the harbour of Colonia del Sacramento, Lentas Maravillas is a friendly, exquisite and small cozy restaurant where you can relax and have the tastiest, healthiest and most delicious food in Colonia. (Watch out, it isin't easy to find good food in Colonia!)...All the way from tasty sandwiches to veggy dishes to goulash or gazpacho or meats and fish, every dish in LM is delicately balanced in taste and flavour. A regular visitor to Colonia, I find LM the best restaurant in town and a very attractive value for price experience.More

We read other reviews and had lunch today. This is such a great restaurant. The venue is like walking into someone's home. Dining areas, inside, in a patio and in a really lovely garden on the banks of the river. We both had salads. Really...healthy and really tasty. One of the best lunches in a while.More
