Lovely restaurant with lots of atmosphere. Liked having the guitar player. A place where you could have a special meal. The decor is good and the restaurant very clean. Staff were exceptionally good - attentive and helpful without being intrusive. The place is a little pricey, but you do get well prepared food. Thoroughly enjoyed our soup and mushroom sauce... Having spent a lovely day in Colonia we wanted to have meal before the boat ride back to Buenos Aires. We had not done our homework and decided to pick a restaurant based entirely on how it looked from the outside. We were standing in the town center and there were two clear choices , a red and a pink... More

Not particularly good. It's an average restaurant that gets the job of filling your stomach done. It wasn't bad, but I wouldn't go back. One additional point for having two different vegetarian options.

We thought that with such a great location and so many customers, the food here would have been better. We ordered a seafood fry and a seafood rice. Both were just ok. The surprise came with the $2.50 per person cover charge (se cobran cubiertos) for the bread...

Very touristy, as in extremely generic Restaurant, nice from the outside, interior rather simple. The service was unfriendly, didn't speak english at all, which is imo unacceptable for a tourist hotspot like this one. They also angrily reminded us that service/tips was not included, before we actually requested the bill. The food was quite expensive, around 20 usd for some... More

Located close to the lighthouse in a nice square, you can enjoy at the "Pulperia" a pleasant lunch either inside ( rustic decor but perfectly renovated ) or outside on a nice day. Food was correct. My soup was delicious. The staff was not particularly helpful but ok. Maybe one but, the restaurant misses a bit of charm which other... More

Take the reviews to heart on this place. I wish we'd looked it up before we sat down. It's a tourist trap--nothing more. The food is edible at best. The lemonade was water with some lemon juice mixed in, sugar packets on the side. I ordered the Lomo Strogranoff (there's a whole page devoted to it) so I hoped it... More

Why come here with so many nice places to eat in Colonia?? It's basically a tourist trap in the main square that takes credit cards, hence helps lure in the tourists! However, many other places also take them too so look around! We stopped by and ordered a rice dish and calamari... They arrive within a few minutes, so there... More

The place looks like it should be decent, but it's simply another crappy tourist trap masquerading as something it's not. I realised it probably wasn't going to be good as soon as our meals showed up just 5 minutes after ordering. That was the last time the waiter came for a good while as we sat looking at our finished... More

This was probably one of the most average meals we had in Uruguay..not bad, just not interesting or outstanding. A nice big room, wait staff was pleasant, just nothing amazing to comment on.
