It's a pretty little town with nice restaurants - you will find similar ones on almost every coast where catholic colonialists ruled. Therefore, it's a good contrast to big Buenos Aires. But Colonial has one huge disadvantage: The prices are weired - as if you were in Switzerland. And because the ferry from Buenos Aires is expensive too, the rating... More

Guess the title says it all! We decided to eat at El Torreon due to its location and the view it provides over the water, but even with that attraction, this place disappointed. The worst was the service. Strongly recommend against this place.

Went with four people, all family. We ordered four different dishes and all of them were almost disgusting. The meat was supposed to be rare and came as hard as a rock. The rice had absolutely no taste at all. The bread was older than my dead grandpa. Honestly, the only good thing in this place was the Pepsi. It's... More

If you are in Colonia and want a place to sit down and have a drink specially around sunset, don't look any further. The views are spectacular but it might get a little chilly because of the strong winds. Now, regarding the place itself, food was good but a bit overpriced. Beer selection wasn't to die for either.

Nice location indeed. Nice setting since the restaurant is located in an old tower. The positive things end here: service very average, food nothing special...really. Price on par with top restaurants. Look somewhere else for your launch.

The restaurant is in a great location on the corner of two streets overlooking the river. There was some nice music playing so we decided to have lunch. Initially, the server was prompt because we were the only ones, but eventually when the restaurant filled up, service became slow. The food (pork chops and chicken curry) were average. However, I... This restaurant was great for the both the view and novelty factor. Food was fair although over priced. There was an 18% additional charge for using a credit card which made the meal one of the most expensive ones we had on our trip.

Nothing amazing. Just a plate of ham and cheese (shop bought), a soup, a hot chocolate and a cup of tea. What was amazing was paying US$35 for it!!!!!! Had a nice view but really isn't worth it. What a waste of money.

I ordered ribs and a salad. The meat was absolutely terrible; ridiculously chewy and poor quality. I took one bite and could not swallow it. I fed my entire dish to a stray dog who decided to sit by my table (he was one happy dog!). The salad was terrible as well. A couple of green leaves (and some of... More
