Eatable, but: 1. This is not a "Chicken Kyiv", not even close. 2. Borsh is not substantial enough, no special donuts with it. 3. The dish was different from what I ordered

Sadly only this restaurant is marketet as Ukrainian. So we went there. Stuff in not very nice nor skilled. Food is delicious and for good price. Restaurant is traditional looking.
Apathetic waitresses, mediocre food, and in a country full of great Ukrainian food, a wasted opportunity considering its downtown location.
I had Bograch soup, its tasty, must try if you visited Uzhorod. Deruni I suggest to take the one with sour creme, as the one with mushroom you will get it without sour creme. Sour creme is must for this dish, otherwise not complete experience....Staff were not friendly, but not all of them. The person who works at the bar or as cashier is rude and doesn't care about the guests. I don't lije to write bad reviews, but then how managment will know that some of their team members are spoiling clients experience. Waitress was polite. Decoration is good and lovely atmosphere.More
Very good quality food, reasonable prices. Friendly staff. Good selection of the traditional Ukrainian cuisine.
Food was delicious but portions are not really generous. Prices are average but not equal the size of portions. The staff was polite but not exceptionally kind. Toilet is not clear and doesn't smell good.
I like the traditional atmosphere. Food is also delicious. But be careful, the card can not be paid. I recommend here😊
This restaurant offers very nice food. Thats definitely a big plus! But I have to give also some minus - one for very smelly not clean toilet and one for not such a nice staff ( after we finished food they pretty much ignored us...entire time with dirty plates on the table, for the bill we had to come and ask and then we left). If i compare it with other restaurants in Uzghorod, this was the worst service we experienced.More
Visited this place after a long day. The interior is really nice, painted and decorated in traditional Ukrainian style. Food was delicious but portions are not really generous. The staff was polite but not exceptionally kind. All in all not bad ;)
I ate at Vertep twice: the menu is surprisingly broad for a small, simple place, and prices are very reasonable. Salads tasted fresh, the "Carrathian Delicacy" pork dish was hearty with lots of pork, potatoes and onions and a great flavor, and the borscht was...good, although not the best in town. Service was perfunctory and adequate. The atmosphere was cheerful despite being in a relatively low-ceiling cellar. I'd go back for the wide variety of choices, the fresh vegetables and generous portions and the affordable prices.More
Cozy small restaurant at the centre of the Town. Low price along with the good service and fresh food. It's not the best sample of Ukrainian cuisine. But pretty good one.
We were wanting some local ethnic food and Vertep did not disappoint. Great food in a great setting for a very reasonable price and very centrally located. Highly recommend.
I had the bohrach, a kind of traditional stew from the area, which was served in a loaf of bread. Very good value for money. Staff dressed in traditional costumes. Located in the basement so the entrance can be easily missed if you're not quite...sure where it is.More
I bring business colleagues here when they come to town. It's a nice place to try local fare and simply relax. The menu is interesting and offers visitors a taste of the local dialect as well. Good always tasty and predictably fresh and well made.
The best Borste I have ever had!!! I visited the restaurant after speaking to a local about the best Ukrainian food restaurant in Uzhgorod. Look for the Big Spoon which marks the location. The restaurant is located in the basement. Rustic surroundings and fortunately, the...menu was written in both Ukraine and English. Started with a half liter of wonderful draft beer. Service was fast and friendly! Food was so good I ate there every day after I discovered it!! Recommend the dumplings with cabbage, goulash with dumplings. The Banosh is very popular, it was good but their Borste was my favorite. Wish I had the time to try all the dishes!! Actually my favorite restaurant in Ukraine and that includes Lviv!!!More
