Home made meals are excellent, especially baked bean in pottery with rice and local soup called "Tandour (Tandir)".

We had the pleasure of being introduced to Volkan at his restaurant in Urgup. He made us a very special vegetarian version of the local clay baked casserole dish for lunch. It is cooked for a couple of hours so it is best to arrange ahead of time. We also had our first taste of Aryan (yoghurt drink). Great experience.

The lentil soup is absolutely delicious, as was the Turkish special served on a large iron skillet. The owner is very attentive. Good value, around 17TL per person including soup and a drink. Probably our best meal in Cappadocia and better than a much more expensive restaurant we visited the next day. The food is simple but delicious. Certainly great... More

Frill free type of restaurant. Lovely portion, excellent quality and humble price. I ordered the vegetarian vegetable stir fry. Truly lovely, was peppers and eggplants and potato cooked together served with pickled vegetables and bread. Owner speaks fluent english and english menu is provided. Highly recommended.

We stopped for a casual lunch after a morning hike through the Valley of Roses as our guide recommended. The proprietor was wonderful to talk to and his food was cheap and delicious. It was all prepared by him on the spot. The food everywhere in Turkey is good, and the choices are plenty. But I can say that this is... More

We were recommended this place by some fellow travellers and we were absolutely blown away. Our server, Colman Zengin was magnificent and we really felt like valued customers. This was the best service I have ever experienced in all of my travels and the food was amazing too. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone in the area. I... More

It may not be fancy, but if you're in the mood for some quality Turkish fare after a long day of hiking, inside is a warm, family run establishment, with excellent home cooked food. The vegetable dish and the clay pot stew are excellent, and ask for some hot mezze, Vulcan will recommend some good ones. Very affordable, terrific atmosphere... More
