Fantastic authentic turkish home cooked meal served with great service. My 2nd visit to this family run restaurant located in this tiny village in Ayvali, Urgup. Great ambience and the food, needless to say, was fantastic! Owner's mom does the cooking with lotsa passion and love. Fresh ingredients were hand picked from their own organic garden and what more can... More

Got taken here by our guide who had arranged this so that we get a taste of authentic home cooked food of the region. It's not really a restaurant as they only take bookings and then prepare the food according to who is coming, so you need to book this place. You can not just turn up at lunchtime. The... More

Me and my girlfriend were staying in one of the hotels in Goreme. Booked a jeep tour with our awesome guide Okan Yazgan, who we later discovered, was also the owner of this lovely family-owned boutique hotel & restaurant called Aravan Evi, situated in a peaceful Ayvali Village in Urgup. After our amazing jeep tour, we decided to have our... More

In the tiny village of Ayvali, not far from Urgup, this amazing gem of a restaurant is run by a local family. The cooking is done by Nurhayet, the woman of the house, whose locally-based, locally-sourced dishes are subtly flavored, balanced and perfectly cooked. Depending on the season, much of the produce comes from their nearby huge! organic garden. You... More

Cappadocia was my first stop upon my arrival in Turkey. Of my two weeks in the country, I must say my decision to be at Aravan Evi was the best. The food was freshly organicly harvested and cooked with lots of love from the lady in the kitchen. It is truly home-cooked, family-run - they serve with passion, love, very... More

Others have spoken of the freshness of the food, the farm to table aspect, great setting, reasonable price and how helpful Okan is whose mother cooks while he attends to the guests. In addition we spent time with the mother in the kitchen watching her make the food which she does with care and love. Firstly a very nice family... More

Our guide alerted us to the existence of this restaurant whilst we were staying for 3 nights at Gamirasu Cave hotel. In Turquoise, Chef Greg Malouf's Turkish culinary discovery book, he noted it as his restaurant of choice in the Cappadocia region. And it delivered all it promised. We were on that night, unfortunately for them, the only two customers... More

We chose to have lunch here on our way to Kaymaklı underground city. And did not regret it one bit. İt is fixed menu, and reasonable priced.

We came here for lunch during our recent hiking trip and were more then pleasantly surprised by this outstanding restauarant which prepares village food in the traditional style. The starters were outstanding - above all the stuffed wine leaves / dolma. As a main course we had casserole prepared in the traditional clay pot for hours - and it was... More

One of the best meals that we had while in Turkey was lunch at Aravan Evi. This boutique hotel/restaurant, run by Okan Yazgun and his mother working magic in the kitchen, specializes in home-cooked Turkish meals. They take the concept of farm to table seriously sourcing much of the produce from their own land. As a result, the flavors are... More
