Clean place, decent food !

We stopped here on a Tuesday around 1:00. We wanted to avoid the usual hustle and bustle of down near 5he water and this was a convenient place. Pretty typical diner menu but what we ordered was great. 2 chicken quesadilla’s, a Buffalo chicken wrap and a hot roast beef sandwich. Service took a little while but they have also been affected by $15/hr for unskilled labor and unemployment incentives. Food was great so 8m happy to wait. I’ll definitely go back !

A terrific diner

The Northstar is a sterling example of the grand old American diner tradition. A pleasant greeting as I entered followed by a quick seating in a comfortable booth. A friendly young waiter was there immediately with the coffee pot and a menu. That menu offered an astonishing and often imaginative choice of breakfast items. I opted for the basics — scrambled eggs and bacon, whole wheat toast and coffee. A sound test of a family restaurant like this one is whether the kitchen can scramble eggs properly. Answer: they can. The breakfast was excellent, and the lunch items on the menu looked plenty attractive as well. This is a place that likes its customers. No wonder it's so popular

Good Breakfast

Good place for a home cooked breakfast. Husband got pancakes and bacon. The 3 pancakes were huge, fluffy and delicious. Bacon very crispy. I got 2 eggs over easy, bacon, home fries and toast. Very good also. Friendly waitstaff.

Another great breakfast place

When all the stores and restaurants are buttoned up for the winter, the Northstar is open for breakfast and lunch. It’s open year round, too, so we often breakfast here when in the 1000 Islands. Oatmeal, pancakes, eggs, French toast, fresh coffee - all your favorites!

WOKE!

I took a seat at the counter right in front of three idle staff members and I guess greeting me or offering me a cup of coffee was much too difficult for them. If you can’t handle the WOKE type of personality, you will not like this place. I won’t be coming back. The lispy male server is whiny and babbles nonstop. Sickening!

Her tip showed how bad the service was, her friends were more important

Our waitress a tall your girl with red hair. pale completion. ordered her girlfriends. who showed up after we sat down. i guess her fiends were way more important than the customer. never came over to see how everything was tasting, she just didn't care, and her tip showed. won't come back

Delicious good and friendly service!

This place is a gem! The food is amazing and we returned multiple times during our trip! Best breakfast in town and the coffee and sausage patties are the star of the show. Our server Teigan was on top of things our entire meal and was very nice. Definitely visit Northstar Restaurant during your trip!

Great Omelette!

Stopped in for a late lunch after hiking nearby at Otter Creek. Loved the quaint look of the place. Lots of menu options I chose to go with the all meat omelette and was not disappointed! Light, Fluffy and the perfect ratio of all the ingredients! service was good, coffee was good, very clean. will definitely recommend and return again!

Chose another restaurant

Cute restaurant,but we waited 20 to 25 minutes for a simple order of 2 eggs and toast for both of us. The eggs and toast arrived cold. I had to go up to the counter to ask for a coffee refill. The women’s toilet had two stalls. One labeled out of order. Second stall was about to overflow. We asked for check and left. We won’t be returning.

Excellent Food, Great Atmosphere, Friendly Staff

The menu is full of breakfast classics, the staff is friendly, there is ample, comfortable seating, and a clean space to enjoy. The art on the walls makes this place unforgettable. Breakfast was delicious for all six of us. This restaurant is not a drive-by. Stop here and you will not be disappointed.

What a great place to have a decent meal at a great price served by friendly staff. My wife and I were celebrating our third anniversary. We stopped in for breakfast every day of our stay. We look forward to our next visit.

Good breakfasts, the restaurant is nice love the scenic walls! I had a ham & cheese omelette it was ok he had the gravy & biscuits he said it was good & the biscuits were big.

stopped here for breakfast several days - wide selection of food and good prices. Staff was a little shorthanded, but everyone was very pleasant, and services was still pretty quick.
