I am coeliac and struggled to find anywhere to eat in Kanchanaburi until I found this place! I didn’t have a translation card on me so I simply showed the chef a summary of what gluten was in (using google translate) and she said they could cater for me. I ordered the vegetable stir fry and my boyfriend ordered the Panang curry (he is not gluten free). The chef came over to me and said the Panang could not be done gluten free but the stir fry could as she would not use soy sauce. This shows great awareness of allergies from her and shows this restaurant take it seriously! (Even though I was not ordering this dish). Overall very very happy as I was able to have a lovely local (and cheap!!) meal! Would recommend!

I'm a carnivore but am always happy to try anything, even without alcohol!
The food was tasty and the vegetables were varied, fresh and full of flavours. The sauces were good, particularly the banana leaf salad.
I had a banana shake (nearly all banana - delicious) and my fiancee had a ginger tea (proper ginger, not flavouring etc).
We both had brown rice with the main courses and the total was 260 (£6.50) which is reasonable value.
In truth, there is only so much scope with vegetables without meat in my diet (and I'm not far before you start 😁) and so I would get bored with too much but for a vegan/ vegetarian this is a Fab place to eat and the people are nice too. Thus I have marked it from that perspective.

On has a solid menu of popular Issan dishes which are cooked with care and know-how. The restaurant has a rustic and homely ambience. Eating at On’s offers fantastic value for money and I’ll be sure to visit next time I’m in Kanchanaburi.

The food here is absolutely incredible. It's a fully vegetarian restaurant with vegan options and there are many options to choose from, for a very reasonable price. there were three of us in our party and all the food arrived within 15 minutes!
The family that run it are lovely; the chef showed us how she was making the food, taking care to point out each ingredient and spice she added. One of the children helped us get a taxi home as we were unprepared for the tropical storm that hit while we were there!
I cannot recommend this place enough, truly amazing food and amazing people 💜

I ordered the pineapple fried rice and loved it. Bigger than expected portions made me cancel my sticky rice with mango and banana... she laughed and said her portions are big. I'll definitely be back...

Great place for Vegans. A true Gem.
We had Massaman curry that was Absolutely marvelous, spicy but not too much, banana salad and pumpkin soup that was equally great. The town is rising up from slumber after Co-19 but many places have closed we are told. Great service, food made fresh on the spot in front of you. A must stop for everyone. Also it is next door to Aver another good restaurant with Thai and European mini breweries beers. Another must stop.

Went to On’s with my sister. The restaurant itself didn’t look like much but On was kind and friendly and the food was absolutely dazzling. The portion was bigger than we expected from a simple looking restaurant in Thailand, especially out of Bangkok. Everything tasted amazing. We enjoyed it so much even though neither of us were vegetarian or liked ‘healthy food’ that much! The Tom-yum soup was to die for. Pineapple fried rice was a bit too wet for my liking (I prefer my fried rice dried) but tasted wonderful anyway. Tempura vegetables was fried to perfection and the nutty dipping sauce was fantastic. Her mint and lemon shake was an interesting new flavour that reminded me of Mediterranean cooking. Each dishes was cooked one at the time with care and everything was customizable. Don’t miss this place! It could get a little crowded for dinner.

So far the best Cooking Class in Thailand. You can choose the dishes you want to cook from the menu. On is a very charming and friendly person. It was a very authentic experience. whenever you are on Kanchanburi visit her and join the cooking class. You can find her on facebook or just arrange the class when you are eating there.

Every time I pass through Kanchanaburi, I try to eat at least 2 meals here. The family that runs the restaurant is so welcoming and kind, and the food is great too. Many healthy options on the menu, the normal Thai classics plus some excellent choices many travellers may have never tried. Most mains cost 80b. The ginger tea (juice) has a real ginger kick to it. This time in town I ordered Penang curry with tofu and a banana flower salad. Curry was really flavorful and just the right level of spice for me. I didn't miss the meat at all. Banana flower salad was a special treat, an absolute flavor explosion. Portion sizes are generous and prices are a very good deal as well. They also offer cooking classes. I will always keep coming back to this restaurant. Did I say, I love this restaurant? I do.

Fantastic food - whether you just want to eat in the restaurant or try a cookery class. We opted for the class. On is fantastic - great teacher, great fun and it was wonderful to cook our own lunch - all in less than 2 hours, with recipes to take with us as well. Great value for money and lovely to not have to spend a whole day in a kitchen like some of the other cookery classes we’d looked at. Definitely recommend if you’re in Kanchanaburi!

I am not vegetarian or vegan, but I can genuinely say that their Massaman Curry is the best in Kanchanaburi with a nice thick sauce. It can take a while for your food to come as there is only one cook and two glass burner stoves, but boy, is it worth it. They do not serve alcohol but if you politely ask, they will let you buy dome from the supermarket down the street

We went as a family if 4, with 2 kids. On is great fun, very kind & patient. She was aware of my gluten intolerance which was brilliant.
She helped the children when necessary but also noticed when they could do the cooking themselves.
We are not vegetarian but that made no difference to us
We had a brilliant afternoon, would definitely recommend a visit and the food was delicious. My daughter keeps saying On and get cookery class get five stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We loved On's food and her welcoming personality. Food was made fresh right in front of us, flavours and spices were amazing. For anyone that might be hesitant eating at a vegetarian restaurant - don't be. You will not miss meat once you taste On's cooking.
We spent a lot of time trying the restaurants on River Kwai Road, which is saturated with watered down food catering to westerners. If you want something authentically Thai and with a friendly host, definitely give On a visit.
We had the banana flower salad (highly recommend), tempura vegetables, pad Thai and hibiscus tea. All were fantastic.

As far as I know this place was the only vegan restaurant in town so we had to try it out. The menu is large and varied enough that it warrants multiple visits. Some of the things we tried were the classic Morning Glory and Salad with Peanut Sauce & Tofu. The portions are generous and I had a hard time eating the entire plate of the morning glory as it was a variation that came with tofu and other vegetables as well. The only thing I would criticise were the various fruit shakes which were pretty bland. The prices here are very reasonable considering the restaurant is right on the main street of Kanchanaburi city. There are so many dishes to try, I will definitely be back the next time I’m in the city.
