As a solo diner Dr. Dewan the owner took special care to make sure I had a wonderful visit. All private seating is outside in his beautiful lush gardens. I purposely over ordered because I wanted to sample as much of his authentic cusine as possible. Everything was splendid. As I've stated in previous reviews to present a really great dining experience there needs to be a Captain in charge of staff and guest satisfaction roaming the tables. In this case Dr. Dewan is a master. Not only does he make sure everyone is thrilled with there dinner he does it with charming aplomb. It is a small adventure to find his location just outside of downtown Hua Hin but definitely worth the easy trip - Enjoy

After four years living in Hua Hin my wife and I finally got around to coming here. We will certainly not be so long away in future. You will find cheaper Indian food in Hua Hin, but you won't find better and served in such tranquil surroundings. A delightful place (open air only) and staff are excellent.
We have eaten authentic Indian food cooked for Indians for many years in the UAE, and I still rate Shiva's food very highly. Most of the staples you would expect in a UK Indian restaurant are here, and if you like a beer the local brews are cheaply priced, with bottled Kingfisher also available at a price 50 pct higher.
Please support this restaurant in these difficult COVID days, if it disappeared it would be a tragedy!

Shiva's is a a hidden gem of a restaurant. Located in a very leafy area of Hua Hin, it offers what I would say hidden tranquility.
The owner Dr. Dewan is an interesting personality and excellent host for a feel good experience.
The food is well prepared, delicious and excellent for a group visit. You will not go wrong with any item on the menu. Highly recommended is the mutton curried dish which is very well prepared. You can taste the flavours coming out of the dish, and the spices that was used to cook it.
Their naan bread is cooked the way its should be. The garnishing that comes with the dishes makes it a mouth watering experience. Recommendation is to try out their mango lasi which is very refreshing. Also recommended is the fish curried dish, chicken and the talak paneer. All prepared with the right amount of spices and to taste. With the seasoned basmati rice went well with all the curried dishes.
To round off your meal do not forget to order the Indian masala tea (request for it in a mug and strong brew). Taken with a teaspoon of sugar makes it an excellent drink to what would be a meal eaten with satiety.
This is my first meal stop whenever in Hua Hin. A nice chat with Dr Dewan is also very informative and refreshing. Highly recommended.

Well we went there with a high expectation of getting a 5star sitting and 5star food from a 5star chef....which some of the reviewers have stated earlier in their reviews. We reach this place which is located off the main city on a hillside and To find that its having only a outdoor sitting and all seats our metal seats with uncomfy cushion to make us feel much disappointed after reading such a review that this place is 5star place after renovations. The food menu was also a standard menu offering all the standard Indian dishes, however biggest disappointment was that staff there was not at all prepared to take the order for our lunch as we felt like an uninvited guests. Finally we group of 5 people family decided to go else after all these disappointments. Didn’t have the chance to taste the food however it’s not a place where we can go on a hot summer day and have lunch in open air.

Shiva is without doubt our favourite restaurant in Hua Hin. We've lived in Thailand over many years and having travelled a lot of Asia and the world, we are always very excited to visit to Shiva for our fix of flavour and culture. The owner Dr Dewan and his team treat us and every guest with great attention and the food and drink that is served is created to meet individual tastes and requirements. I love spicy and the chef does a tremendous job! I highly recommend the jalfrezi (any type) and my wife is a big fan of the paneer dishes. The restaurant has also recently been updated and looks better than ever. The prices are excellent and you get 5* treatment, cuisine and a unique experience. The team will even organise transport to support your needs.
Looking forward to my next visit! I always get takeaway for lunch the next day too!

The sights and colors are the first thing you notice when you come to this restaurant, that doubles as a clinic. The food is unforgettable too and they are mindful of small but important details of cuisine, such as cooking the onions and garlic last to keep their fresh taste and feel. The smells of the open air kitchen are amazing. The service is always on point, we never had to wait to ask for anything. The food, ambiance, and service is exactly what you would expect of a high end restaurant but when our bill came, it was surprisingly a fraction of the price. We will definitely come back every time we visit Hua Hin. The owner, if you have the opportunity to meet or speak with him, is truly an accomplished individual.

We have just returned to Thailand after several months filming abroad. It was New Years Eve where should we go ?

Sometimes when you go back to a place one can be disappointed but once again jackpot, location, food, wine and service all excellent, just could not fault it.
As an international actor I am privileged to eat in some of the finest restaurant's in the world, and take my word this ranks amongst the highest. Dr Dewan you are a star

I visited Shiva just after lockdown ended in Hua Hin. It was my first night out and being an ever loyal customer, had to visit immediately as it is the top of my list of places to dine in Hua Hin! ( this conclusion after 5 years living here)
Due to changing restrictions Shiva has decided to spend the next few months doing some incredible renovations to add to the already tranquil/beautiful setting. They are set to Re-Open SEPT 1st.
Dr.Dewan, the owner of Shiva is working hard daily to bring the customer ultimate satisfaction. Come visit his flower garden and enjoy the best Indian food Hua Hin has to offer beginning of September. It never disappoints!

Never have I been to a more stunning setting to eat.
This place is breathtaking, the air is laced with a light infusion of incense, the atmosphere is magical (quiet Indian music and wild peacock calls) and the food....
Every mouthful is India on a plate. If you want authentic Indian food, and really well priced, don't look anywhere else in hua hin.
You will absolutely not be disappointed.
We didn't reserve a table, which I later realised we should have, but the staff couldn't have been more kind and let us sit anyway. We were in no way rushed to finish.
The owner greeted us personally and he showed me the inside of the building and told me so many wonderful stories about his life.
There is also an ayurvedic centre here, which I will definitely be checking out.
A magical night and a new regular haunt of ours. 💜

I was desperate for an Indian meal.
If you like ambience, this place isn't bad at all. If you like Indian food, for me this place is terrible. If your trying to get type two diabetes, then you've arrived at the right place. So much oily food here, you pay the cost, but no goodl flavours just the same same nothing taste, and dripping in oil. If you value your health so not come here. There's much much better, in the ordinary every day street food stalls.

Later in my professional life I have to stay 5 Stars Hotels.Steet stalls 1 cup of Indian tea was costed 10.00 (ten)Rupees. Bu5 Stars Hotel (lake Palace Hotel, Udaipur, Rajasthan costed 500.00(five hundred) Rupees,I asked the manager why is so big difference, same water same tea same sugar and same milk and better testy then your .That time Mr.Deepak Data was Director. He told me as follows "Sir you are absolutey right BUT the tea Cup was not the same, the ambience is difference the person who served your tea he studied one of the best University (International Hotel Management).It was a good lesson for me. Anyway again I would like to Sincerely apologize.

This was my 3rd visit to Shiva (over a period of a few months), and each time the food and service has been excellent, so I felt it only fair to post a review so others may go there and enjoy what Shiva has to offer.
They have a superb range of dishes, offer a lovely outdoor dinning atmosphere, with great service.
Their location is just off Soi 88, heading towards the Hin Lek Fai viewpoint. So they are close to central Hua Hin, but away from any noisy bars etc.
If you love Indian food, I cannot recommend them highly enough.

A group of us came here for dinner, all looking forward to tasting some delicious food. Well, what a fantastic discovery.
We were greeted upon arrival and shown to our table, set in the delightful gardens, lit by fairy lights with an abundance of exotic flowers, which all in all made for a completely relaxing ambiance.
After placing our orders, an array of dishes promptly arrived. The chef totally exceeded all of our expectations; with every morsel that we ate being cooked to perfection. The service from the friendly staff was attentive and faultless.
We met Dr Dewan, and enjoyed such an interesting chat. A true gentleman, who has led such an interesting life.
If you’re looking for some authentic tasty food, I would not hesitate in recommending this fine Indian restaurant. Luckily for us, we are staying a while in Hua Hin, so are able to revisit and try some more of the chef’s delights.
Thank you Shiva and Dr Dewan for a most enjoyable evening. See you again very soon.

Often when one gets a takeway from any restaurant or fast food outlets, no
matter how the try it’s never as good as if you dined there, at best 60/70% quality.
For those that do not know, the Shiva Indian Restaurant is open for takeaway, I’m not clear if there is a delivery as I collected the food.
As always the staff we’re very attentive, I placed my order, thinking and wondering how it would taste at home. I can assure you this delicious Indian food was authentic 100% what a delight, the most enjoyable takeaway I’ve ever had.
Check it out, you will not be disappointed.

It was a first time eating Indian for myself an American and my companion a Thai. First off we were seated outdoors in a beautiful garden setting that is tastefully decorated. We had two waiters, equally friendly and efficient. We both needed assistance with our selections and our servers did a great job helping us choose.
I started with a Masala Papadum which was four thin crispy breads with a spread of fresh spicy vegetables. My companion had a roti of specifically what I’m not sure but I had one and it was good. My entree consisted of the Butter Chicken over Saffron rice. It was flavorful and delicious as well as very filling. For dessert I had an Indian ice cream that was sweet and tasty.
The entire experience from start to finish was unique, pleasurable and over the top satisfying . I’m vacationing nearby and will make a point to return multiple times. Highly recommend.

Dr. Dewan is a beautiful human being who brings his peaceful, wise, charming presence to the ambiance and taste of his restaurant. The food choices are extensive and all under the premise of Indian Ayurvedic cooking and fresh ingredients (mostly grown on the property itself) and we loved every single dish we tried. We were entertained as a private audience (by chance) by visitor Klaus on the piano all night which was a divine treat.
This is a hidden gem of a restaurant opposite Chom Dong villa, with private parking and a huge garden graced with literally thousands of stunning flowers, plants, trees and waterfall features where you can find yourself a larger space for a family or a small intimate corner under the leaves for an intimate dinner for two. Can’t believe it has taken me 3 years to find it. I’m scared to advertise it here because I don’t want it to be spoiled by your bus groups in the future. But I simply must shout out loud for its presence because it’s only fair that everyone have the chance to experience it for themselves.
