Amazing view of Mt Meru and we were lucky enough to see the snowy scopes of the Kilimanjaro too! The food is delicious and the craft Twiga draught beer is a plus! Staff is nice and efficient and there's a craft shop in the premises...with many beautiful local things. Totally recommended!More

Lovely seating area and great ambiance. Gift shop is excellent but pricy. Food is good with a large menu, but expect to pay quite a bit for what you're getting. You won't regret a visit but don't go out of your way.

One of the best pizzas I've tasted - stone oven baked, crispy base pizza..tasted super without cheese (great for vegans) as the pizza sauce is absolutely finger licking. Lovely environment and ambience to sit in! Ahsante sana for great food and great service!

The pizza cooked in a wood-fire oven was delightful with some South African wine. Great atmosphere and outdoor seating.

This is a very good place to have dinner. The food was quite good. The service too. You can eat outside, and there is a nice garden with seats to have a pre-dinner beer. Recommended.

I have visited The Blue Heron twice while in Arusha, and the experience on both occasions was pleasant. The colonial house hosting the restaurant and the retail shop is phenomenal, warm and always welcoming. The restaurant has different seating areas, comfortable lounges to relax and...enjoy a drink with good food. The menu itself is limited, and consist of several salads, pasta dishes, pizzas and a selection of sandwiches; unfortunately there are no starters or finger foods to start, except the sharing platter that will take up to 45 minutes to be prepared. As well, to mention that on both occasions, the number of dishes not available (dinner service) is high. During my last visit, 3 pasta dishes out of 5 were not available, as well certain ingredients for the preparation of the pizza; perhaps the chef and the service team can be proactive and suggest a replacement or an alternative. I ordered the Ham and Mushrooms pizza, and the dish was tasty, the dough was perfectly cooked, and the portion size was just right. Unfortunately, similar to the other pizza restaurants in town, the tomato base sauce is sweet, and the pizza is overloaded with mozzarella cheese. Otherwise, the pizza is well prepared, perfectly cooked, I enjoyed my meal. The chicken shawarma was equally tasty, and of very generous size; french fries or chips must be ordered separately. The service is polite and attentive; prices are in line with other places in town, 20.000 TZS for a pizza is acceptable. The restaurant offers good parking facilities and is located only a few minutes away from the Clock Tower. Overall a pleasant experience to try again in the future.More

Great place with a nice garden, a small shop, good food and friendly staff. We had the tapas for two, a bottle of red wine and spritzer. We paid like 123k. The pizzas also looked very decorous fresh from the oven.

First off, we were headed to a George’s Tavern, however they were closed so our driver recommended this place and we are so glad he did! The decor here is lovely, and ambiance is casual, but cute. It was a bit nippy out, so they...gave us wraps to cover our bare arms which was nice! We ordered the nachos which were very good, the chicken wrap, and the mushroom pizza. All were very good! This place also has a cute boutique which sells nicer arts/crafts/ handmade jewelry.. nicer things than you would find in a typical market.More
