Thoroughly enjoyed a ‘couples’ dinner on a visit to Galle. The Seafood Okonomiyaki was very well prepared and well sized. Together with the fresh sashimi platter it proved a wholesome meal for two. Staff were attentive. Recommended.

My wife and I had read that this was a kool japanese restaurant inside Fort Galle and decided to find out for ourselves. Located on the bottom floor of an old warehouse, the restaurant is japanese in style though all food is prepared by locals. The service is attentive, though you occasionally get a hiccup with the language barriers. The food is caught fresh daily and prepared and serviced with style and respect. The tuna was fresh and delicious while the crab rice was awesome. Highly recommend that you call into this restaurant and enjoy was lovely fresh japanese with a Sri Lankan twist.

The Tuna & The Crab has a great selection of sushi in the Galle fort. The Olive Oil and Soy Sauce Sashimi is a must-try! Tensabi Temaki is lovely and the miso soup is perfect on a cold day! French Toast is a lovely end to the meal.

Really disappointed with our meal here. We were excited to try as heard great things about it, and its sister restaurants in Colombo, but wish we hadn’t bothered! Starting with the good stuff - we had tuna maki, which was nice, and vegetable maki which was also nice and light. But the bad stuff… tempura prawns that seemed to have been cooked in oil that wasn’t hot enough, so the batter was not crispy. Even if it had been, the prawns didn’t really taste of anything. We didn’t even finish the dish. And then crab croquettes, which we both questioned if they were actually beef… or mushroom… or what. Oh yes, and in a completely empty restaurant they chose to seat us next to the fuse box. Not sure what that was about? And in this empty restaurant the staff seemed more concerned with attending to a takeaway order rather than the people present - we had to ask repeatedly for a bowl of miso soup. I think Mr Munidasa needs to spend a bit more time in Galle to quality assure what he is putting his name to

We have been going to this restaurant quite regularly from the time it opened in Galle. We are known to the staff in galle and we always provide them with feedback to motivate and encourage especially post COVID lockdowns when business was slowly picking up again. This year the tourist season is thriving especially with lot of European tourists. To our surprise when we went to this restaurant this Saturday we were greeted by a waiter who informed us as we entered that it would take at least 45 minutes to get the order. There were only three tables that were occupied while all else was vacanct. However all were occupied by foreigners. Then we said we could order some drinks and appetizers and wait for the main course. To this we were told- it would take 45 minutes to even get your appetizers. We were quite surprised and decided to go elsewhere. As we were outdooors trying to decide where else to go wr were approached by a known waiter who informed us that they have been instructed to turn down all local clients!!! We are never going back here again!

We had a nice lunch while visiting Galle. We started with the tuna sushi was very good, fresh and nicely sliced. My bento box had a large variety which was a good way to sample many of the items on the menu. My husband ordered the fish which was flakey and perfectly fried. The coffee jelly paired perfectly with a glass of wine. Overall a good experience

If you're visiting Galle Fort and feeling let down by other dining options, make sure to head straight to "The Tuna and The Crab" for Japanese seafood fusion that's out of this world! Their Kani Chahan, Spicy Prawn Soupless Ramen, and Shibuya Style French Toast are a must-try. Plus, their Iced Tea Soda is the perfect drink to pair with anything you dine. The staff's super friendly. The vibe is chill making it the perfect place to hang out with friends and enjoy a leisurely meal at your own pace.Foodies, you must be crazy to miss out on this place if you have not yet visited here.

Ambiance was chic yet comfortable. Service was friendly and prompt. There was a varied menu with many sushi, sashimi, bento box choices and more. The mud crab on a half avocado was delish and the sushi platter was varied, fresh and very tasty. Convenient location with ample seating (air con too!).

Place was totally empty…. We nevertheless went in because of the food TA reviews. Food was OK but expensive for local standards. A few dishes were excellent ( raw tuna sashimi, crab rice and croquettes) . Some were barely edible … both raw tuna over rice and crab avocado were mixed with an extremely spicy wasabi mayonnaise …. Pity for the good ingredients. Service was OK - when I complained about the dishes they offered to remake them ….- which we did not feel like wasting more time on. Overall : disappointing diner and would skip this one in Galle.

Had the Tuna sushi and Tuna with Avocado sushi. Both were good, but have had better plenty of times. For the Price, decent value and price. Sushi quite small. We tried the Okonomiyaki, basically a Japanese Pancake, but it didn't impress us. A crab dish where you can't taste and enjoy the crab doesn't work for me. Te mayo and vegetables and other ingredients were overpowering, and was liked a baked dish with no belonging. Really wish Had ordered the Garlic chilli crab but hadn't read previous reviews earlier. The cuttle fish in Olive oil was good, tad overpriced I thought, My guess is one has to know what to order and order the right dishes. The Prawn and vegetable tempura bowl with rice was also decent, but overpriced with 3 prawns. I wasted the rice as it was a lot, and probably better to order just the Prawn tempura.... Miso soup was excellent. All in all was a good meal, everything was fresh, but it isn't cheap, so would definitely go back and order and try different dishes. Would have liked to try some f the Angus tenderloin dishes and the chilli crab. For dinner better to book in peak time.

The staff understands little english, which is sure to lead to confusion. The items are quiet overpriced, given the location and other cheaper and better options nearby. Given the crab's hard shell, i requested thrice to remove the meat, only to be looked at with babmboozled looks. The taste is just average, be it teppenyaki or crab. On top of it, Rs 200 charged for water, when regular tap water was asked. Exasperated and disappointed with the meal that costed LKR 4900.

Restaurant staff could not have been less interested if they tried, bordering on rude. Packed up and left before we'd even started. A bit of advice to the front of house team, if you're going to be that surly with paying customers you'd be better suited getting a job in the tax office where your lack of interpersonal skills will be truly valued.

We were longing for good sushi so we tried this place with great reviews. However tuna sashimi was dull, white fish sahimi hard and badly sliced. Only good nigiri sushi was prawn one, tuna and white fish not really good. Maki was OK. During our meal, russian couple's toddler got nappies poo poo situation and waiters did let them change it and wash baby in the kitchen, which totally unhygienci and disgusting - since kitchen is open. However it seem like most restaurants in Galle, while looking posh, are offering substandard food like that. This one was not the worst we had here.

What a fantastic banquet - many thanks for a stunning meal. The highlight of the meal was the eye catching - mouth watering pepper crab. Beautiful buttery crab with a simmering chilli gravy. We started the meal with tuna cod roe mako, crab salad in avocado, miso soup, panko fish fingers, prawn fried rice and a sashimi platter. For pudding was the decadent shibuya style french toast. The staff were very friendly and always ready to help. I can't wait to go back!
