A delicious lunch with family - lots of interesting food items with many vegan and vegetarian offerings. beautiful inside - recently expanded to more dining rooms and the “Old Albany” decor is stunning - esp. the woodwork. Their food is fresh, beautifully plated and reasonably...priced. Large potions, it is often a very long wait so I suggest you log on to the online waiting list which is connected to Yelp. Outside patios weather permitting. My only complaint is that they aren’t open for dinner!More

Iron Gate Cafe has a great range of delicious food for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. Dishes are creative, well made, and super tasty. Service was excellent and the environment is quite beautiful.

Very welcoming place. Menu is great for anyone to find something to eat (vegan/meat/etc.). The waitress was very nice and had plenty of patience even for the kids. We were 11 people… so not an easy table. My only complaint or I would say weakness...of the venue is the dessert part. Especially for sweet tooth people like us.More

Now I know why the Iron Gate is the number 1 restaurant in Albany on Trip Advisor. The food was wonderful. I am a big salad eater and it was outstanding. The service was very good as well. A meal at the Iron Gate.

The back patio was full so we asked if we could eat in the front patio. We were immediately accommodated and brought coffees. I had a spinach and mushroom omelette with home fries. It was stellar! The spinach was added to the eggs so its...flavor was in most bites. The mushrooms were sautéed and were both beautiful and delicious. The home fries were cooked perfectly. Even my toast was outstanding! I had enough food to have breakfast the next morning. My friend had the poached eggs on avocado toast. She said it was all delicious. Our service was outstanding and we were able to take our time without feeling rushed. If I lived near here, I’d be a regular!More

Delicious brunch. Pleasant outdoor seating with friendly service. We had a twenty five minute wait for a table on a Saturday around noon. The food was delicious, including eggs benedict with avocado and black bean fritter, eggs benedict on sweet potato, and stuffed french toast....All really good. Would definitely go back.More

Hard to spot, near Albany armory, but this is a gem! Patio seating as well as indoor in a garden like setting. Very attentive staff and great food. Went twice during our brief trip to Albany.

We were in Albany for an unexpected stop and found the Iron Gate Cafe for breakfast. What a pleasure! The atmosphere was great - the older building, the music, the energy - all was good. The service was very pleasant and the food was delicious....My husband had one of the benedicts and I had the omelet with apples, cheese, and bacon with greens on the side. This was the best place for a nice, comfortable breakfast and if in the vicinity, we would definitely do this again!More

Came here for brunch on a Thursday. We sat outside and it was great! It was starting to get busy when we sat down. I had an iced caramel latte. I had the Elvis’ Memphis Scramble and it was great! I loved the cooked onions....The corn bread was great! I had the home fries and they were a little dry, but delicious. The raspberry Brie French toast was good! I like eating them together in a bite! Definitely a cute place for brunch!More

Was recommended to the Iron Gate Cafe for our Sunday breakfast during our stay in Albany. So glad we went, the food was great as were the different flavored Mimosas.

After being introduced to Iron Gate by a local earlier this year, we had breakfast here twice during our most recent visit to Albany - once in the back courtyard and once in the front garden courtyard. Both outdoor options are very pleasant indeed, and...service from both servers was very attentive and friendly. The food is plentiful and fantastic, whether an egg dish or a sweet item like pancakes or french toast. There are several vegetarian options, BUT you can swap out sausage for impossible vegetarian sausage to greatly expand the number of vegetarian options. This easy accommodation is much appreciated. Highly recommend this restaurant. It’s absolutely worth the wait (it’s very popular) for a delicious meal and great dining experience!More

Severl weeks ago I decide to go to the Irongzte Cafe for breakfast I was a little early, but Kevin the owner ws kind enough to let me in and I sat in the courtyard until it opened. It was certainly worth the wait. Had...the special pineapple rim upside down pancakes. What a great call! I also had a side of bacon, and of course my nectar of the Gods, a mimosa. The always delightful Sam waited on me. Sat in the back courtyard. It was surreal, Just a wonderful way to start the day. After waking up this is the second best thing that happened.
