The food was raved about so we thought we give it a try. I have been there a few times with friends and with work. The food is OK and the furniture and silverware looks like it was right out of a thrift store.

Don't be put off by the outside. It is a bit mundane and plain - on the order of an old neighborhood bar. I have been visiting this restaurant for many many years. The food has always been consistently good as is the service. This is not a fancy Italian restaurant but rather a warm, welcoming respite. The interior is... More

First of all they need to get invest in better air condition. It was hard to enjoy dinner in this sweatbox. The food was good but nothing better then most pizzerias in my town yet I guess they use their proximity to Times Union Center to overcharge.

I usually write positive reviews. And I eat almost everything put in front of me. And Italian is pretty hard to screw up, right? To be fair, this restaurant was mobbed in advance of the Bruce Springsteen concert across the street. But this can't be the first time this place has had to deal with crowds. So why was the... More

We recently dined at Amo la Bella. We ve been regular customers for years. The restaurant is located across from the Times Union arena in downtown Albany. The ambience reminds me of restaurants in NYC s Little Italy. If you desire real Italian food, this is the place to visit. The chicken cacaittore which I usually order with a Peronni... More

Upon arriving we were told they were cleaning a table off. We stood near the bar waiting for a table and were ignored for approximately 15 minutes. We observed the server cleaning the table where we would be seated. She was taking her sweet time. She wouldn't seat us until the table was completely set knowing we had been standing... More

Read the reviews and couldn't wait to eat at the restaurant. Went with a large group thinking family style would keep it reasonable. Chic parm, greens and beans, meatballs, ziti and sauce and a tossed salad - no dessert. Food was good but not worth $47 person. $200 later for my family of 4,I certainly left there with a bad... This place is a hidden gem in downtown Albany. The building and even the dining room are very dated. You would not look at this restaurant and say this is a place I have to try. Believe me you don't want to pass this up. If you love authentic Italian food you will love Amo La Bella. I have been... More
