As regular visitors to Albany, dining at Jack’s Oyster House is a must. Our recent visit was as perfect as all the rest: from the welcome at the door by the host, who rushed out to open the door for us, to our wonderful server,...More

It’s a very quiet place, with a warm atmosphere suitable for the cold outside, it is a restaurant with so much fame, very wide and pleasant decoration of the time, good choice of dishes and very good taste; The staff is very attentive. Recommended for...More

Very pretty restaurant with a fireplace. Food was delicious. We had crab cakes, oysters, filet mignon and the trilogy of steak, tuna and shrimp - all very good. Service was impeccable- attentive and friendly. We will be back!

We dined at Jake's on a Wednesday night. It was basically empty, and so, the extremely SLOW service was kind of a surprise. We were seated quickly, but that was where the quickness ended. We spent almost 3 hours in the restaurant, and that was...More

I chose this restaurant for it's strong history and reputation of being a GREAT place to go. My expectations were clearly to high, however they shouldn't have been. We were greeted at the door and promptly seated. No one ever asked to take our coats....More

Jack's once was a venerable location with good food and service. It was an icon, but tonight it was cold food, average service and a waste of time. The menu is already limited and yet they were out of salmon. The scallops were cold and...More

I love Albany for it's historic feel and Jack's is an iconic symbol from when I lived in the area. Most recent visit provided a decent dinner and friendly service. But there was nothing special (other than the rich, historic feel of the space itself)...More

My husband has been raving about this restaurant for years. It was my first experience. The ambiance, the wait staff (thank you, Jasleen!!) and the food surpassed my expectations. An American Classic restauarant at its best. Can’t wait for our next trip to Albany!

On the street parking, and a parking garage in the rear. The attire runs the gambit from suits to business casual during the week. Its a nicer than average place so dress well but comfortable.

There are three or four entree salads and a pizza pomodoro on the menu. I do agree with the suggestion that you call and inquire. They are very accommodating.
