Great place to meet up with people and enjoy some after work beverages and food. They provide a small pizza free of charge with your first beer. The food is very good and service is great.

We had a wonderful brunch. The food was very good. I had the best eggs benedict I have ever had. The brunch menu also included a cocktail. The staff was very friendly. Our server was excellent-very knowledgeable about the menu, very attentive. We were so pleased to see the new life given to this beautiful, historic building. Thank you for... More

Really great food. They have an open table concept which is great if your just looking for something quick. Looks run down from the outside but is tastefully renovated inside. I loved how they kept the charm of the old building. They also have plenty of parking in a separate lot.

Food was bland. Waitress staff is probably some of the worst I have ever had. They were super cordial and professional but the wait time and follow up was horrendous. The beer was over priced even by a "beer halls" standard and the mysterious bucket was just awful. Won't be going back. Very nice staff though.

We spent three nights in Albany, ate here the first night and came back for the third. We are a vegetarian couple and the vegetarian items on the menu were delicious. The corn, described as Mexican street food, had a wonderful sauce and was undoubtedly the best corn I've ever eaten, cooked to perfection. We enjoyed the falafel dish as... More

Although the building is historic and retains gorgeous interior woodwork and vintage style lighting, seating is on benches at long tables. Music was at a consistent volume - loud, on a Sunday evening. It seems the City Beer Hall hasn't decided if it wants to be a beer hall or a restaurant with creative cuisine. There are elements of both... More

A Gastropub close to the Times Union Center in downtown Albany, NY. Many interesting craft draft and bottled beers to choose from all across the US. Nice wine selection. Limited, but varied menu of upscale pub food. Community long bench seating at long tables (that seat 6-8). Located in an historic building with great interior atmosphere. Lively = moderate nosie... It seems the chef insists on messing around with everything. I had ribs, my wife had Columbian chicken. Everything on the plate was trying too hard to be unique. Along with my ribs was some "cooked" watermelon, yucky greens, and corn bread that was pan toasted and sort of tasted like grilled cheese. But the worst sin were the ribs.... More

This place has a large selection of somewhat uncommon beers. Those I have had so far were good. The beer comes in many different sizes, so you can drink exactly as much as you like. The food is also good, but somewhat overpriced and the menu is limited (especially on weekdays). I ended up having a burger. The location is... More

City Beer Hall is a favorite of mine -- great food, great things on tap (always gluten free options). This place is toward the top of my list (usually #1), when thinking of places to go with friends to have a relaxing evening after work. I can even handle the occasional Saturday "club night" upstairs. And if looking for something... More
