Great place, great food and most importantly great attitude from people there. This is the must visit place when you are in Seychelles! When you are there take tuna tartar and bouillabaisse soup. Please put special attention to unbelievable cocktails based on Takamaka rum.

Together with a nice couple who recommended us this place, we went for dinner on Friday evening and it was an excellent experience. The live band is a MUST! The taste of food as well as the presentation are great. The staff is very well trained. Don't miss the rum!

Very well thought out menu with accent more towards classic French cooking with the Seychelles influence! Loved both of our lunch dishes! Husband had seafood pasta and I had the Job filet wrapped in bacon with lentils and light wine Jus. Well balanced and tastie! But I have to say you must share the Sampler of deserts!!!! I went mad... We made a reservation via email a few months in advance with a check in a week before arrival. We were assured everything was all set. When we arrived a second manager had no idea we were coming and made a big deal of rearranging tables for us. While they fit our party of three in, we were rushed through... More

We toured the whole island of Mahé and this must be one of our most memorable dining experiences (for fine dining!). Excellent quality of food. We were taken care of by a gentleman, presumably from the UK (not sure however - probably one of the owners). He made excellent suggestions and I can only say: Please go there to enjoy... More

The tour was brief but informative. The old house was well maintained and the tasting was fun, if a little pricey. Better to buy the goods at duty free at the airport (this was cheaper that at the distillery). Worth a visit - for an hour or so - the beach opposite is stunning.

We had dinner and cocktails. The food was great, best dinner so far in the Seychelles. The plantage itself has been around since 1792 and still has some of that beautiful colonial style feeling. We will be back for the tour of the distillery & rum tasting, and possibly have lunch aswell. Well worth a visit!

We didn't manage to visit the distillery but went for dinner one evening and it was well worth it. The food was spot on, including the presentation. Friendly and knowledgeable staff and delicious rum for afters.

We went for lunch not knowing what to expect so got there at 1pm thinking we'd be home by 1400. Well we left at 6pm basically did not want to leave!! It was just perfect. The owner is amazing and she is so knowledgeable & interesting to chat to. Tapas were great. Best lamb burger I've ever had and dessert!!!... More

If you are looking for fine dining to Michelin standards, La Plaine St. Andre on the main island of Mahe is the place to go. The ambiance is old world style with a touch of modern thrown in for good measure. In the evenings, you can choose to eat indoors, on the wide veranda's surrounding the building or in the... More

The Plantation House has been lovingly restored based on its original plans, and actually rests on its original foundations. The 200-year-old trees which line the Bilenbi Avenue are untouched and are on the site's original site plans. The property is also home to a beautiful garden from which our chefs proudly source their fresh herbs and spices. Takamaka Bay, our fabulously Seychellois rum, came to life in 2001 and was inspired by the D'Offay family recipe. It is used both in La Plaine St. Andre's bar and kitchen. By day, the grounds of La Plaine provide a tranquil setting for a day away from the beach - our petanque court pays tribute to our French heritage, our garden surrounding the historic ruins is a treasure trove for the nature-lover in you and our distillery is open to be explored from Mondays to Fridays. When the sun sets, the ambience of our restaurant changes dramatically; enjoy an intimate meal in our private dining room or on our softly lit terrace or an Al Fresco dinner under the stars.
