Our ETS tour group stopped here for lunch. The restaurant provided a nice selection of cafeteria-style food, and the staff was friendly, walking around offering freshly made bread and pizza, which was very good. The complex includes several shops with Dead Sea products and souvenirs....Outside a vendor offered camel rides around the parking lot (fun to watch). What we enjoyed most was the small fountain and plaque commemorating Elisha’s Spring and Jericho as the ‘Oldest City of the World’.More

It was rainy and cold when we went here. The staff was accommodating for us when it rained. They didn’t expect us to purchase anything at the restaurant to stay dry. But we did anyway out of the kindness of our hearts too. Excellent views...from this location.More

Brought here by our tour guide our bus was virtually a captive audience. Plenty of food but average quality and variety but at 49ILS for a salad and small bowl of something like creamed rice, this felt a lot like being back in boarding school.

Located in the center of Jericho, the Mount of Temptation restaurant caters to tour-bus crowds. With their “captive audience,” the restaurant puts little to no effort in atmosphere, service, or quality and taste of food. Our car-service driver brought us here, probably because it appeared...that the various drivers who brought customers ate for free. For lunch, there was a steam-table buffet of limp vegetables, a few salad elements, and unidentifiable main dishes. We asked for a menu, which was clearly not usual for lunch since it took some convincing to get the menu, much less get someone to prepare the dishes we ordered. Frankly, the dishes looked like a “dog’s breakfast.” The pasta and lamb dish was dreadful. The pita bread was stale. The service was abrupt and rude. Note that there is a “smoking area,” which means that cigarette smoke drifts throughout the entire eating area, so it’s quite unpleasant if you are a non-smoker. All-in-all, this restaurant is dreck. If you have no other choice and your bus tour stops here, I would just recommend having ice cream from the stand just outside the restaurant. If your car service driver suggests this restaurant (as ours did), tell the driver to stop at a convenience store so that you can buy a soft drink and a bag of chips/crisps – packaged, processed snacks will be much tastier and healthier.More

A pretty large restaurant clearly geared towards tour groups. Nice decor, plenty of food for our lunch buffet which was generally pretty tasty. Owner was very pretty friendly and even posed for pictures with us (the tour guide told us that he looked like Einstein...- and there was so truth to it!) One complaint was that it did get pretty hot inside the restaurant during our lunch.More

After a cable-car ride to the top, some very good food with an outstanding view! Great service as well.

This is obviously very popular with tour groups and very busy ! Mum and I liked that there were options and different pricing for those options. It was quite a decent buffet spread.

Food was great. Very accommodating. Very friendly. Very casual ambiance. Place was kind of empty but we were early with a prearranged group.

I see there are great reviews for Mount of Temptation Restaurant, and I am wondering what I missed. It was a mediocre buffet and since we were the only group visiting, we felt like the staff hovered a bit. I wasn't sure if they were...waiting for us to leave, or just bored and watching us. It was awkward. The food was nothing too exciting, but since it was buffet style, we definitely had enough to eat. Our group didn't see much in Jericho, so this seemed like an odd stop. There was a man outside offering camel rides. I felt a little bad for the camel, having to keep kneeling down and getting back up on the pavement, but he didn't seem to mind. Several in my group (myself included) decided to do the tourist thing and pay for camel rides. Overall though, I wouldn't bother adding this to my itinerary in the future.More
