I travel extensively, and I am always looking for great places. I would highly recommend the Java House in Artesia, NM. I had a Vanilla latte and their AMAZING huevos rabcheros sandwich!! Holy NM heaven!!! They offered many deli style options, tea, and of course a great cup of coffee (or latte)! The owner, Robbie, and his team were incredibly... More

If you're driving up 285, coffee shops are few and far between. This is one of two that I know of, and the other is one of those franchise places you only go to as a last resort. Not much between Carlsbad and Albuquerque. Always friendly, always hot, and always good, strong coffee.

My sweet sisters in Christ and I love coming here. When we can get together, we spend hours talking and enjoying their soups, sandwiches, teas, and coffees. The staff are sweet and amazing no matter how long we sit and visit. I'm thankful we have a wonderful place like this here in Artesia.

This place is good not worth the buzz it creates though they try new things here and there but it's usually hit or miss their macarons are not very good overall too expensive for what you get

Found a whole lot more. This place is a quasi coffee house, NY style deli, Starbucks, and kitschy beatnik hangout in the middle of Artesia NM. An oddly incredible find. They specialize in Boars Head meats (we bought a pound as it is rare in the Southwest), artisanal coffees and colorful surroundings. If they had bagels, I would have moved... More

On the way from Carlsbad to White Sands, we stopped here for iced espresso and found they also had a great cold brew, too. The baked goods were yummy too. Definitely a great place to stop

The coffee is ok and the atmosphere is nice, but from the moment I walked in I felt like I was in a church. The employees are less than helpful and not welcoming in the least.

We stopped here on our trip and were simply amazed at the food. They make the BEST sandwiches and salads. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. There were 9 of us and everyone was satisfied with their meal. Their sandwiches are just excellent. I tried the Ruben and it was delicious.

Stopped here on a Saturday afternoon for lunch, ( only because it seemed like nothing else in town was open ) the young ladies " working?" here seemed to all have attention deficit disorder as they compleatly got 2 of our 3 food orders wrong. The coffee, ( and this is a coffee shop ) was Luke warm at best... More
