We ate lunch here twice during a business trip. Unfortunately could not sample the micro-brew since we were working! The second lunch I had here was a Caesar salad with salmon. It was a huge piece of salmon - very much worth the price. The place was almost deserted both times we ate there.

They have good food, but the service was a little slow. Order didn't come out right but kept the plate and it was good. Fun atmosphere.

This place was super! Great home brewed beer, stellar steak, fresh linked bratwurst sausages, and bar h'ordevours. Give it a shot!

This place was full of people who seemed to all know each other but I did not feel uncomfortable. The local beer was very good and to my taste and the blackened catfish filled a hole. I wish I had been staying within walking distance and I might have tried another of the local beers.

I stopped in 4 times in the few weeks I was there. The chips and queso was awesome. I enjoyed the microbrews, Roughneck Red Blonde, and Cali Lager. Great pub atmosphere, but also a dining room for families

I remember coming down to Artesia regularly with friends to eat at The Wellhead when it first opened; we were extremely impressed. The decor was attractive and unique, tying in perfectly with the oilfield theme, and the food was excellent and unlike anything available in the area. Everyone in Artesia was quick to tell you that was the owners' intent:... More

The wellhead is a local brewpub in the dusty little town of Artesia. It's one of the essential hangouts for locals, roughnecks, and visitors to the city. I had the locally brewed IPA and it was pretty darn good, and certainly beat drinking bud out of the bottle. The food was decent and the service was quick and friendly. I... More

Ate there twice - first time I had an excellent steak preceded by salad. Second time I had the bratwurst wit sauerkraut - OK but not inspiring. Overall excellent service and value for money. They also do a splendid selection of locally brewed ales. Only bizarre aspect was that even as a pensioner, I still have to show an ID... More

My husband and I or groups from my work dine at The Wellhead about once a month. The food is typical pub fare. My husband likes the burgers, the catfish, and the flatiron steak. I like the bratwurst plate and the taquito plate. The staff know us and treat us well. The microbrew is decent. I feel fortunate to have... More

Very good food especially the mahi mahi sandwich. They have a full bar and their own signature beers which are surprisingly good! Nice laid back atmosphere with a lot of local signage.
