A friend sent us a delivery of ful medames, msabbahah, hummus, falafel, chips and pitta breads. The food was very good although the falafel was a little dry for my taste and the chips were the standard soggy undercooked ones you get served in most places in Tel Aviv. Authentic food and very tasty overall. Generous portions.

This is a local cafe with a great reputation. It's busy and not very big but you'll find a space. There is no menu, just prices based on how much you want to eat, and you'll eat hummus. They have drinks, bread, yogurt, and onions that you can take as accompaniments. Its absolutely great hummus. There is no ceremony: come in, sit down and order, very quick service, eat your food, pay and go. Definitely worth dropping in

Amazing Hummus

Abu Hassan was our first introduction to Israeli hummus, and we were not disappointed. The restaurant was busy with local people and others eagerly waiting outside. Seating is on shared tables but that added to the community feel of the place. Our plentiful hummus arrived promptly, topped with herbs, spices and chickpeas, served with fresh pitta. The hummus was creamy, filling and so very tasty, bearing little resemblance to that bought in a supermarket. We were truly stuffed when we had finished, leaving soon after, as was politely expected. For a total cost of about £8 including a soft drink each, this was also exceptionally good value. Would definitely come here again.

Both sides of the street are amazing this side has salad so I can call it health food!

Abu Hassan is on both sides of the street but this side is a little bigger, a little less crazy if you can say that and it’s got salads. what a meal we had including salad (so our consciences are clean our bellies are full) they have wonderful service, nice guys serving (I didn’t see any women) but what a great place and a great meal. Besides the salad we had their fries, falafel, tahini, super fresh pita, foule, and their hot/spicy sauce. This is an experience, it must be visited more than once so enjoy.

One dish wonder

Basically serves only hummus, but it totally worth the trip. Always a long line, but very fast turnaround so its ok. They serve it with pita, a tangy sauce and raw onions. It was delicious and hands down the best hummus I've ever eaten.

Seriously, the best hummus & falafel! We loved the tangy lemon sauce that was served with our hummus. The pita was super soft. Everything was incredible, including the service! If you’re visiting Tel Aviv, this is a MUST visit!

Best in Class - Hummus Restaurant

This historic restaurant is everything as advertised. The hummus is best and we tried this Israel specialty at multiple locations before and after our visit on 3/15. Definitely a must do while visiting Jaffe (Tel Aviv). It is always busy, so you expect wait in line to get a table. The pace fast, once you have finished this not restaurant where you linger. Enjoy the foo and continue touring Jaffe.

How to justify 150NIS per person when it's 26NIS here!?!

Yeah, just go there. Portions are huge. Go hungry. Leave VERY full. And yes, the hummus is as good as its reputation. So is the pita. Like that they have a sink with soap and water to wash hands since customers will be eating with those.

Best hummus I have ever had

Arrive early because when they run out of food, they close. I loved the hummus so much, i bought 2 cartons to take back home with me. The place is quick and service can even be a bit pushy, but it all adds to the flare.

Worth the Hype

Heard about Abu Hassan on TA. We went for lunch and now understand the high rating. The service was very friendly and the food was phenomenal. The hummus trio was some of the best we had in Israel and Jordan. The falafel were also outstanding. Make sure to visit when in Jaffa.

The best hummus that I have ever had!! We found street parking nearby. We shared a table with others. Service was fat. Meal was delicious!
