This week I was in Taos to cover for the pastor who was on vacation. Edgar and I dined out several evenings. The best place was Sabroso in Arroyo Seco just north of Taos a few miles, on the road to the ski valley. I had mussels in a tasty wine sauce. Edgar had the grilled salmon with an avocado... More

Six of us ate at Sabroso, and we really enjoyed it. It was a beautiful evening, and we sat outside and listened to a great guitarist. The food was inventive and delicious. Our group had salmon, liver and onions, cornish game hen, and a beautiful steak salad. The service was friendly and helpful, and the food came at perfect timing.... More

My wife and I enjoyed dinner here on the last evening of our week-long stay in Taos, on Friday, 17 Jun 2016. We intended to dine here at 6:45pm, but our touring of Enchanted Circle, Rio Grande del Norte National Monument and Taos Ski Valley took longer than we had expected. The hostess was very gracious and gladly moved our... More

Sabrosa Restaurant, on the way to Taos Ski Valley in the charming village of Arroyo Seco, is a delightful al fresco dining ( and often musical) e pertinence in the summer, and a cozy, elegant dining experience in winter. Having worked at this establishment in the 1970's, when it was the Casa Cordova, I was delighted to discover that the... More

Sabroso is a Taos-area treasure. Excellent and varied menu overseen by chef George and sous chef Dan, tasty cocktails, good wine list featuring wines from all over the world (including New Mexico). My favorite places to be seated are in the cozy bar or the very popular shaded patio, but the lovely dining rooms feature art by a rotating group... More

Friends in the music business said don't miss Jimmy Stadler! So we went to catch his performance on a Wednesday night. We were in the warm and cozy bar. Great friendly staff, except for one dour female server ( we observed her on three different occasions ) I think her name is Vanessa. Other servers were great, greeted us warmly,... More

This place is wonderful. We passed it for 2 days, and finally stopped in for happy hour on our last night is Arroyo Seco. Wish we would have went the 1st night, because I know we would have went back the next 2. Happy hour drink were a great price $5 for a hand squeezed margarita, that actually had booze... More

Sabroso is one of Taos' better steak houses and it is located part way up the mountain to Taos Ski Valley just before Arroyo Seco. It is kind of hidden in a secluded old building and as far as I know is the only restaurant in Taos that cooks over an authentic wood fired grill. There is a grand piano... More
