after a friendly welcome and some aperitif we started to eat. The starters were fresh and suit perfect with home made bread. Then we had different salads, then soup, then came the main course. Everything was very delicious. At this point we were already more...than full. Then we got fresh Knafe for desert - there are no words to describe it. Adva's and Meir's home kitchen is a reason to visit Arad! Spend the night in a room with desert view, enjoy a dinner at Anna Maja, and you will get the best of Israel! Thank you for the fantastic experience, excellent hospitality, great wines and delicious food!More

We had a fantastic and memorable evening and very much recommend this for anyone staying in or around Arad. This was a first time of a home cooking experience for us and we were a little unsure of what to expect but the hosts Adva...and Meir gave us a truly, warm and hearty welcome and we thoroughly enjoyed a relaxed evening of great local food, fine wine and a unique chance to speak casually over a great dinner and discover insights into everyday living, life and culture in Israel.More

Me, my partner, my 19 year old daughter and my 7 mo. old daughter were fortunate enough to find Anna Maja and have a phenomenal Shabbat dinner - in the beautiful desert town of Arad. Great hosts, wonderful cooking and a unique experience that i...recommend to anyone visiting Israel (Arad is only about 90 minutes from both Tel Aviv and Jerusalem). Highlights of the meal for me were: home baked bread, dips, and the baked fennel dish - the squash soup was awesome as well. Excellent experience - seek it out y'all. T'Man '19More

Attention foodies! If you are staying in the Dead Sea/Ein Bokek area and are looking for a special treat, this is it! It’s about a 35-minute drive from Ein Bokek (our hotel arranged the cab for us) on a winding desert highway to the town...of Arad. And there, nestled in the community, is the comfortable home of Avda and Meir Golan. Avda’s passion is cooking and opening her home to people from all over the world who are looking to share a great meal together. If you’re hesitant about the offerings being all vegetarian, prepare to be pleasantly surprised at the quality and variety of dishes served. It was our daughter’s 25th birthday and we were looking for a unique and memorable experience. Upon arriving, we were ushered outside onto a lighted patio where our set table awaited us. The very nice and comfortably cool evening air was a blessing after experiencing the daily extreme heat of the Dead Sea. We were served champagne and wine and mint lemonade. First out was homemade bread accompanied by 4 different dips, including our favorite, cilantro chimichurri. Next we had an amazing salad of beet root, nectarines and greens. Also, spinach and cheese tarts in phyllo pastry. The next course included roasted mangos, some roasted vegetables (Japanese pumpkin, sweet onions, cabbage and peppers), grilled eggplant with tahini and diced tomato salad and a potato dish with yellow beans. The main course was a luscious vegetable lasagna made with zucchini, mushrooms, tomatoes, cheese and pasta. It was simply amazing with flavors and seasonings not typical for lasagna. And just when we thought we couldn’t possibly eat another bite, out came the chocolate cake (and herbal tea) for dessert. There was even a lighted birthday candle in the cake to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. Avda thought of everything! This was a night we will always fondly remember. So glad we found this place on Trip Advisor. You won’t find any place else like it!More
