The resto was so packed when we had our dinner. It just does not suit my taste buds, nothing special at all. Just soup with meats, meatballs, veggies and vermicelli. We were 6 persons and would like to order only one portion of steamboat with other dishes. But a waitress said the minimum order of a six-person-table is two portions... More

Stability - that's what it takes to define Dimsum Ayong. They add up selections in the menu but taste remains even after years of leaving Medan. Typical Chinese style of dining, big table where all of your family members gathered. Price is totally affordable. Mostly full-house on weekend, Sunday morning and Chinese celebration.

I am gonna say that this is the best place in town when you want DIMSUM. My favorite dimsum here is their Leng Hong Kian. Many people recommend plain Char Kwetiau, but I prefer Carrot Cake with XO Sauce. I like the idea where they put a plastic tablecloth in every table. So, when guest is done, they just remove... The place was quite hard to find. Googlemap or Waze did not do much help. But it was worth the hassle. Since we were starving, we ordered: leng hong kian, cin sa pao (custard bun), seaweed dumpling, bola udang (shrimp ball), hatosi (shrimp toast) , pumpkin cake, 3 flavor cake (pumpkin n pork floss topping on yam), lo mai kan... I think they are still the best in town until now although it locates a bid inside. Almost all people in town knew this place for dimsum. In the evening they also serve hot pot or local people call it 'sangwo'. The food is consider ok but not cheap. Still worth it. They are famous with their 'plain fried kwetiau'.... More

The restaurant was on a dead end street and the there were another restaurants on the street, so sometimes you should struggle to find a parking lot. The place was quite big but still crowded. Lots of people come and go, so it was a bit noise. But the dimsum ( especially the Leng Hong Kien) and kwetiaw were great.... More

The food was just average. Some authentic dimsum dishes and some not so authentic. We went there during chinese new year's holiday and the restaurant was packed. No one was organising the tables. U just wait around the table that u see nearly done with their meals. No smile on the waitresses' face. Even the owner was rushing us to... More

So far the best dimsum in town. The meals are unmistakably delicious. Suitable place for family lunch while making conversation. But not a proper place if you want a quiet eating. So noisy here since all people talk and talk.

I love the dimsum, but recently found it too many MSG on the food, felt the unbearable thirsty after the meal. It is especially crowded on Saturday and Sunday. A must try for 1st time visitor. but beware of the msg. drink a lot of water

Famous for its dimsum & steamboat, Ayong dimsum is the best in town. Visited at 8 am all tables were fully seated. But don't worry because it won't take a long time to get a seat. Ayong, the chef & also the owner stand by the dimsum's table to serve you his best dimsum. It tastes good, fresh and pretty... More
