During my last few days in Makassar, my client brought me to enjoy the best pork dishes in the city, and one is at Aan Ping Lao. We only ate the Pork Porridge, and well, it was simply the best porridge I've tasted since so long! The porridge was soft, with minced pork, Cakwe (fried salty flour), onions, and best... More

As we know that finding pork in Makassar is kinda hard. So we heard about this place and tried it. It an old family restaurant that serve real Chinese food. The porridge and the pangsit are the famous ones. If you are a pork lover and visit Makassar, you should come and try this place.

Ang ping lao is one of the oldest Chinese restaurant in makassar. It famous because of the traditional unique taste. The porridge is so delicious and leave you to want to try again. The pangsit noodle is okay. Quite delicious but its soup is so so. The restaurant is heritage (family business) and i recommend it to anyone that have... More

Just visited Makassar again and ate at Ang Ping Lao but was slightly disappointed that the quality is not as good as it was back in the 90's... Had the bubur and the pangsit mie. Not bad, but also not really to die for. Too many competition, i suppose. And it is also more expensive for the area.

One of the best pangsit mee (local wonton noodle) in town. It is different from anyother type of wonton noodle in the world. The pork porridge is also very nice. Must Try!!!
