We ate here one evening whilst staying at the beautiful Hotel Majapahit and although the food was good we had to wait about twenty five minutes for our dishes to be served which is quite poor really, especially as the restaurant only had a few customers dining at the time. The setting and ambience is lovely as the dining area... More

The best roast duck I have eaten, with a unique spicy flavour to the crispy skin. Excellent food and amazing service, surrounded by treasures from a bygone era. Be transported to another place.

I really wanted to like this restaurant, especially since I was staying at the Majapahit and love the old architecture and ambients. However, the food was not to my liking and most of it was more fusion than Chinese. Everything tasted sweet or bland and lack spices - totally a forgettable meal for me. Service and decoration was outstanding but... More

I booked a reservation for 32 people here. It took four days to get ahold of the management and for them to respond to confirm the reservation. We split the diners between four tables. For a while, we were the only tables in the restaurant, which was good. They had a number of servers, but they were not the most... More

A good field of Indonesian and western dishes on offer here in great surroundings. Best thing, however, is the cheerful and efficient service!

Great service and food. We tried the duck that was awesome. The portion sizes are huge so probably a couple of small dishes are more than enough for 2 people. The ambience is great and price is really cheap as compared to Singapore, though not sure how it compares to Surabaya prices as we only ate in restaurants in hotel... More

The place itself is our family favorite to dine in. Classic and not like normally Chinese restaurant that is noisy. It's mango pudding is the best in town. Not milt and not too sweet nor sour with firm texture but beautiful softness. Chick Kungpao, bean string, Chick herbal soup and black pepper beef are our fave, also other lists in... More

Sarkies serves chinese fushion cooking along with a few indonesian and collonial (we called it 'peranakan belanda') dishes. Some of the menu are out of the ordinary compared to regular chinese restaurant in town. The specialty are everything with 'sarkies sauce' on it (sweet sour) but i encourage you to try other menu as well. The flavour might be not... More

It's truly a great great surprise when we chose to have our dinner at Sarkies at Hotel Majapahit. Got to say, it's one of the most delicious Chinese/Fusion restaurants I've ever had for my life. The service is quite nice, and the food is so amazing that I would like to thank the Chef of the night then for creating... More

We stayed one night at the Majapahit Hotel in Surabaya and after seeing the traffic situation decided to have dinner at the Chinese restaurant in the hotel. Every dish we had was incredible and well presented, very high quality. Service is very professional and the restaurant itself is gorgeous. The price was perhaps on the high side for Indonesia but...
