Layar since beginning is my reference to have good seafood, my latest visit during X-Mas last year and found out they're moving into new location (not far from previous one). More larger space, looks luxury and brighter.
My fave among the menu are Crab with the shrimp with salted egg coated and steam fish, but many others also good.
Choice of sambal / chili sauce is free flow available for you to match with the dishes and your appetite.
Will always comeback here for good seafood together with family or friends.

Nice place with some extravagant water features outside with its own parking and drop off point and people manning the entrance point.
Seafood was fresh and tasty. The dish that caught us by surprise was the special layar fried rice, probably one of the best fried rice dish I tasted. We order clams, grouper fish, crab and they were all pretty decent. Price is a little expensive, but I guess seafood usually commands a premium.

I came here for a reunion with some old friends after 10 years living apart. We had a good time in this luxury, spacious and comfy sea food restaurant. And we found that every single dish we ordered was delicious and satisfying. The serving time was also pretty quick, considering the place was fully booked that night.
The most delicious dishes (to my taste) were crabs with salted egg sauce, spicy grilled fish and crispy fried prawn.

Always dine in here when in Surabaya. The selection of seafood is awesome! They have almost everything... Tried both 2 branches in Surabaya. The resto is clean and cozy. The service also so quick. It is suggested that you make reservation first and pre-order menu is recommended.

Must Visit in Surabaya. Big place can pick out your live seafood on way in or Oder from large menus at tAble . Big Variety of seafood live . Service is simple cafeteria style plastic covered table cloths. Very large place space for parties .

Loved everything here. The food was (always) great, from grilled squid to steamed fish, was super delicious. Crab, prawn, and any kinds of exotic fish could be found in the aquarium. You can choose the size (and price) yourself, and the chef would turn them into super yummy cooking.
Also, I love the semi-outdoor seating. Very comfy, especially when you visit in the afternoon.

I have visited Layar Seafood at Dukuh Pakis , Surabaya,
surprisedly, it was different look with the photo library in TripAdvisor.
Layar Seafood is A beautiful Restaurant outside and inside , with a friendly staff.
I ordered Singapore Chili Crab, Grill Bali Calm and Smoke Pakis with Shrimp.
The taste is pretty strong with sweet and salty that cant make you eat without steam rice.
Why Is The Fresh Crab meat tasted in a normal temperature degree not tasted hot whether it has cooked already ?
Delicious enough and the price is fair.
I came as a walk in guest , and choose the smoking room with a beautiful view whether I am not a smoker and have a tolerance with that.
My second surprise was suddenly a crowd of 7 people came into the dinning smoking room table and smoke together in there, beside my table, they were talking, laughing and calling as if nobody guest in there.
It would be really appreciated if the Layar Seafood could make a real smoking room to accommodate the smoker.

My family dinner,4 persons and order for 5 menus of seafood and mix vegetables,totally wait in 30 minutes, and our dinner faster than menus delivered,smell of food very tasty and delicious as or expectations

The restaurant has been newly renovated and it is beautiful. The ambiance is really nice, perfect for family dinner. The food is good, worth the price. The service could be better, though. We had made a reservation and we got there, our table wasn't ready. The staff wasn't quick enough to come up with a solution for our group and we were let standing while they figured things out. Not until I got angry, did they offer their apologies and solution for us.

We had dinner here with our colleagues and ordered various seafoods, such as oysters, shrimps, mantises, crabs, fish skins and squids, plus veggies. We finished them all because they were all extraordinary, not only the sauces and the spices that came with them, but also the quality of the seafoods themselves; they tasted fresh to me. This Layar outlet was big, clean, bright and well designed. I strongly recommend all seafood lovers to dine in here. You will not be disappointed.

Such a wide range of choice of seafood, and even each dish has a small medium or large fish / crab / shirmp selection. Good service, they listen carefully. Very nicely prepared, and served in good time.
