We had got this place recommended by a friend, which was why we went there. From the outside it doesn’t look of much and the dessert display might not give you the impression you expected, but... Ask for a table where you sit on the...More

I only had coffee and cake there, the cappucino was not remarkable but the rest of the place is, a very big garden where the dining tables are in a lucious garden, very nice and well maintained. Only for that reason it is good to...More

We were sceptical to eat at Cafe Wayan but there is no need to worry! Food was amazing and well priced, service was great. And the outdoor section was breathtaking at night time, defiantly will be going back!

Located bang Center of monkey forest road you can’t go wrong with Wayan. The nasi goreng is as good as the tenderloin steak. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Great place for a meal

The staff are polite and the food is OK, but this place is very big so you can't expect the same level of attention or smiles as a smaller place. It also feels like the food is largely prepared in advance and then heated rather...More

A beautiful restaurant, bigger than it looks, with delightful staff. A wide selection of international cuisine is on the menu, we had burgers, satay, crispy duck and gado gado. Everything was delicious, though the Balinese dishes were particularly good and generous portions. For desert you...More

Hi Vextar. We went in the evening and it was stunning. Try to book one of the low serving tables ( no chairs) as this made the experience even better. Enjoy your holiday 👍🏻

Description
Cafe Wayan and Bakery Established in 1986 We are happy to have had so many nice guests come to enjoy our food for over 32 years. Cafe Wayan started as a small warung (a local food stall) where Ibu Wayan sold black rice pudding and coffee to the rice farmers on what has now become Monkey Forest Road. Tourist began walking down "the path" to the Monkey Forest and stopped by for a coffee, snacks or to buy peanuts for the monkeys. Ibu Wayans always love to cook as a child and soon the menu began to expand. Return friends to Ubud began helping with recipes of western dishes as long term visitors and residents sometimes miss their own food too. Ibu Wayan began traveling abroad and learned more western cooking with Chef Joe Schultz of India Joes's restaurant in Santa Cruz, California and also learned the art of Thai cuisine in Bangkok.
