I have lived in Ubud for 5 years and therefore I know bars and restaurants very well. At Kyoka I go to drink cocktails, which I must say are very good. But the price is definitely out of all logic. Last night I paid IDR...185'000 for 1 Negroni!!!!! Not even in the best 5 stars in Bali, I pay such prices for 1 Negroni. Here I'm talking about a restaurant not even beautiful, located in a location not even fantastic, in the middle of Covid! ExaggeratedMore

Fresh, generous portions of modern Japanese (with a little Indonesian / Western influence) in a really cute spot with a gorgeous fit out. The Happy Hour cocktails are better than most hipster inner city bars at a fraction of the price. Kind, attentive staff, too.

We had a lunch in Kyota in February 2020. It was so good we came back for a dinner the same day. Their cocktails are fantastic. You can have 2 for a price of 1 if you are lucky to pop up during the happy...hour 4-6pm. I totally recommend to try the Negroni and the Yuzu Mule cocktail. Tuba sashimi, tuna tataki and the shrimp tempura were to die for.More

Awesome quality food. Very traditional Japanese style. The restaurant was not very busy so the staff were standing g there watching us eat waiting for something to do. Was a little bit weird but the food was worth itMore

Kyoka Japanese Kitchen is a must visit if you are in Ubud. The atmosphere, the food, the cocktails and the service are all excellent. I tried several of the signature cocktails but my favourite was definitelythe Yuzu Mule. The Tuna tataki special was incredible as...is the Hiyasi Somen which is beautifully refreshing in such a hot climate.More

The food was excellent (tuna sushi and udon noodles), the staff very good (the *only* place I have been asked if I have any food allergies), polite and friendly, and the place is very clean and nicely laid out. It's a tad more expensive than...other Japanese options in Ubud, but its also very central. Also the Udon option was a larger portion than I was expecting, regrettably I couldn't finish it all! Looking forward to another visit.More

Our waitress was top class and served on us as if we were the only people in the restaurant ( which was FULL at the time). Never an issue to ask the kitchen to adjust menu items for vegetarians. Highly recommend the Bee Passion and...Elderflower Fizz with Veg California rolls, Veggie rolls and agedashi tofu. Prices are really good and location in the heart of Ubud. Highly recommend this restaurant.More

A most enjoyable evening with some dishes we have never tasted before. We really enjoyed the Hiyasi Somen, served cold with cucumber, radish and soy/sesame/ginger dipping sauce. The tofu was also amazing, crispy outside with a really silky core, matching the sauce and condiments (ginger,...nori etc) well. Sashimi tuna was the day special, and indeed it was. Friendly and competent service, giving advice as needed. Good wines by the glass, carafe (25cl) or by bottle was decently priced. Had the NZ Sauvignon Blanc which was a good pairing. Big selection of cocktails and sake, if you are into that kind of stuff. We gave it a miss this time...More
