About
Hidden in the heart of Ubud, Bali’s spiritual and cultural capital, lies the LAZY CATS, a restaurant that doubles as a cafe, bar and gallery and that encourages its guests to indulge in the art of feline indolence and serenity. LAZY CATS combines an industrial bohemian flair with beautiful decor, mixing art, lush vegetation and vintage furniture to create a unique ambience that appeals to the senses. As the sun filters hazily through the skylights and the subdued hubbub of the street below drifts in through the open terrace, LAZY CATS invites its patrons to leave the world behind and unwind with exquisite cocktails, regional coffee specialties and a wide variety of artfully created colorful vegetarian delights freshly made with locally grown produce.

Spoiled for choice in Ubud but Lazy Cats is fairly new and offers vegetarian and vegan dishes. We love the space they have created, it’s bright and fun and you can people watch on the balcony as it faces the main drag in Ubud. Coffees are excellent and so is the caramel cheesecake. You have to walk up a flight of stairs to get to the cafe.

Their wide menu selection, makes Lazy Cats cafe an ideal spot to unwind and eat or drink in your own pace. You also get to choose plates that are healthy, refreshing and are in decent size. Service was timely and I honestly didn’t see much staff on the day. A lovely cafe, Lazy Cats is a cafe I’d definitely revisit to try out more of their dishes, a place to read, talk or just listen from out on their balcony...

This is located about a seven minute walk from Ubud Palace (same road). I came based on reviews. Went early evening Saturday. Loved the cool hip decor and light music. They have a live DJ SET Saturday 18:30 to 21:30 but check as not sure if it is always on. The DJ SET was jazz so don't think hardcore dance! I stayed for a bit as I had to be somewhere else. Lovely ambience and nice setting on the main road. Fast wifi. Clean. Staff are friendly and pleasant. Service was good. Nice menu of smoothies, breakfast, salads, desserts and more. Most people were having drinks. I had the green smoothie which was really good and refreshing in the heat. Not sure green is the right name as most of the ingredients were not green! It was good though with spinach, orange, lime, ginger, banana, mango and coco water. Loved the way they served it in a wine glass. Great and not too heavy. I hate it when smoothies are huge and have decor and ingredients on them like mint and lemon that you can't really eat or drink. This was nice and simple, no decor and perfect. Healthy too. Very relaxing despite being on the main road. I was lucky and got a seat overlooking the road. However, if you want a comfy seat and more peace, sit inside. Cheap.

I usually don’t like to give bad reviews and don’t want to say this one is the absolute truth about this place but it is my personal experience. The place is really cool with a lovely atmosphere, really “instagrammable”and I guess that’s what the majority of people comes here for. I give a lot of importance to food and I love cooking and both me and my friends ordered different dishes but they really tasted like air. It felt like we were eating nothing. Ingredients where good but maybe I would recommend a bit more attention in food seasoning and cooking.
Also juices where a bit disappointing. I was happy to visit the place but for sure wouldn’t come back for good food.

We ordered the Oat Milk Frappuccino which was delicious as well as watermelon juice which was yummy and refreshing. Sugar in both is optional.
Really nice vibe and environment and just as we left were greeted by a parade in the street which was beautiful.

Quite beautiful artsy place. Nice to chill solo or with friends. Cosy. Giving 4* because I feel good is slightly overpriced. There are much better vegetarian places with same price around (in terms of food) but in any case I liked the place and would recommend.

Worth it! This place is just what I was craving when I needed a little break from all the traditional Indonesian food I’d been eating for 7 days straight (not that I don’t LOVE Indonesian. I just needed some veggie fresh food). I over-ordered a bit because everything looked so stunningly amazing! I seriously wanted to order the entire menu. I settled on the black bean and corn “Cheesedillas” which came with these tasty sauces. SO good! Then I also got the BBQ tofu bowl with couscous and vegetables. For something so seemingly simple it was perfection. Fresh, clean and affordable (at least by American standards). I also had a nice iced coffee and a turmeric orange juice which were perfect. For dessert I HAD to try the “pink crepes” made from dragon fruit! Try them- you won’t be sad about it! The decor was really great and had a lot on the walls to keep the eye entertained. I bought a print they had of a lion dressed as an astronaut and I’m in love with it. The vibe is laid back (although the only locals I saw in there were the ones working. All others seemed to be tourists) and sort of hipster but not in an overdone way.

Great and nice place to visit for a good breakfast. The portions are quite large and enough. You can enjoy your food inside or on the balcony with a little background music. Service is good and fast.
They also serve dinner, but can't tell anything about the quality because we only had breakfast. But it's probably good.
If you're in Ubud we recommend you to visit the Lazy Cat!

This is one of my all time favourites in Ubud. I love the atmosphere in the old building (hope to never experience an earthquake there...), I love the kind and professional staff, but mostly I love their food.
The lazy Cats, like many others, has a choice of breakfasts, burgers and healthy foods, so why do I like it so much? When they say healthy, they mean it. Their salads are healthy veggies, their sweets are juuuust sweet, but not overly sweet, they don't use plenty of oil like others do. Even their granola is not drowned in honey, like in most other places. I get my food just the way I would prepare it myself at home. Same goes for the drinks, and those who want them sweeter can always ask for sugar.

Lovely ambience and located right on the main street in Ubud. We decided to wait out a rain storm and also grab some lunch at this really pleasant vegetarian restaurant. The menu was quite comprehensive (it might have been nice to have had a few more vegan options but believe this may have been possible on request). The interior of the cafe was lovely, peaceful and the kind of place you could easily spend 1-2 hours just relaxing and watching the goings on of the busy street below. We enjoyed our coffee, food and the time we spent at Lazy Cats.

You can choose from different dishes, since everything is vegetarian, vegetarians get their money's worth.
The prices are moderate, the service is polite, seems a bit distant to me.
It tasted pretty good.

I came here with my girlfriend and I must say we were taken aback by the decor. It looked like a 5-star hotel. They had such great vegan and vegetarian options also which was very thoughtful. The staff was amazing, we did end up sitting our table for about 2 hours after we had our amazing food just taking in the decor. Two thumbs up!

Found this place by chance which was great as very near our villa. Ate here twice for lunch and once for breakfast and every dish we had was really good. Cool decor, sensible prices and decent chilled decor - a real gem.
Bonus marks too for being a veggie/vegan cafe which actually sells normal beer & soft drinks rather than inflated cost ‘healthy’ options

Lovely atmosphere, great way to spend time and watch the world go by. Excellent vegetarian menu, we had tapas - all really tasty. We would definitely go back. We were there for afternoon drinks and tapas, but the breakfast menu also looks amazing.

Lovely little gem of a café, hidden away from the tourist traps and incessant traffic in Ubud city. Double cappochino with secret condiment absolutely the best ever. Higly recommended!
The coziest place to laze away the Balinese heavy rainfall 🤓
