had dinner here last year when stayed around Legian in October.it is HK and Theo Chiu(or Teo Chew in Malaysia, chinese immigrants original came from East Canton) restaurant, famous for its Theo chiu porridge, HK roasted duck, Dim Sum...there are three branches in Bali, this one...is located at Tuban or south Kuta area.I ordered Bubur Ikan(Fish Porridge), Hakao special (special shripms dumplings) ,cakue (fried dough stick)and Iced lemon tea.all were excellent, especially Hakao and the porridge,Hakao not many, only three in one small bamboo basket, but very good, cuz not cheap,if not, will order one again.and the fish porridge excellent also, reminded me of my mum cooking,i am descendant of Theo chiu, when i was small,my mum did cook fish porridge for me as breakfast. do remember to order cakue, add it into your porridge, wow, the taste is unforgettable!it is regret that so late i found this place, the food quality here worth the money. be note that there are two divisions of Laota Tuban, one is Hong Kong cafe, another is Theo Chiu restaurant. they share the same premises, you can order food from both side, but pay separate bill, that means they charge the taxes two times,it is the only bad experience here. service is good, staffs friendly, food deliver to you not too slow, acceptable. highly recommend Laota (Big Boss) to everyone who love high quality Cantonese food.will be back here once the border opened!More

I could not remember how many times I had dined in at this particular establishment. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Bali. I had the opportunity to visit it during my recent stay in Bali last December. The restaurant was fully packed when...we arrived one evening. Parking was difficult to find as well but fortunately, there was a small parking lot right across from the restaurant although we had to pay a bit expensive for it. Since it was full, we had to queue for our table. Fortunately, they called us in less than 10 minutes. When we were inside, we could find the restaurant was really full and no table was available. We immediately ordered porridges with different fillings with one a la carte menu. All our orders were served within 15 minutes : All of them were so tasty and delicious. Although the price for a bowl of porridge is quite expensive (almost IDR 50K for their favorite one), but it was really worth trying. For this reason, I give them a 4 stars' rating and of course, I strongly recommend this restaurant to everyone who is looking for quality food in their next trips to Bali. If you don't want to spend too much time in Kuta's traffic, you may want to visit their other locations. They have several branches - I have tried the ones in Jimbaran and Sunset Road : Both of them were equally good as the one in Tuban/Kuta.More

I had flew into Bali just after midnight and checked in my hotel at about 1:30 am. And then I decided to have a walk around and found Warung Laota restaurant. This place is definitely lively with many people dinning in at 2 am in...morning. I had ordered fish ball soup which was amazing!!! It is so rare to find a place with high quality food at that time of the day. I went back to my hotel and slept well, my tummy was satisfied :)More

We visited this restaurant last week as there were lots of good reviews and weren't disappointed. Never tried chinese porridge before and it was most enjoyable, we had the mixed seafood. There is a large menu and we had a good selection of dishes and...there were no bad ones. Recommended if you want something other than south east Asian cuisine for a change. Our waiter was entertaining as well as giving good service. The food came out quickly and we will return on our next visit.More
