The couple that owns this place provides some of the greatest community support of anyone else in Lincoln county - always giving. Food is really good. The week-day all you can eat lunch buffet shouldn't be missed. I eat there as often as I can!

Every small town had a central cafe 40 years ago with great basic food. Alto cafe is this, just not downtown. Great daily buffet and excellent chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken. Staff is also a throwback to nice, friendly hometown people. Meatloaf Monday buffet is exceptionally good.

Went based on a recommendation from friends. Breakfast was basic but delicious. Would go back again even though it's a little off the beaten path of Ruidoso. Service was fantastic.

Convenient, decent diner food in Alto, about 15-min NW of Ruidoso. Saying this is one of the best dining places in town doesn't mean much though when the local Shell station deli ranks in Alto's top-five eateries. Nice Christian owners who lead by example. Chow/down is the reason you come here. Daily buffet adds 1-1/2,lbs to the average Alto citizens... More

This is a place frequented by locals. The breakfast here is great. Try the BELT (bacon, egg, lettuce, tomato) sandwich on sourdough bread. They also serve lunch with weekdays having a lunch buffet. But the burgers are really good too. They are hand pattied not frozen already made patties. Service is very friendly.

This is my favorite resturant in Ruidoso (Alto). It is a small, family-run, diner-type eatery with good American and Mexican food. It is Christian-run, offering free New Testament bibles on its bookshelf. Although the resturant does not offer itself as being a barbecue establishment, it serves the best barbecue in town. The meat is smoked on-site and is as tender... More

We were going to eat at the Log Cabin for breakfast, as it was so highly rated and was disappointed when we drove up and they were closed on a Tuesday! We were driving over to Ski Apache and just lucked onto seeing this little café. My companion had Chocolate chip pancakes, and I ordered an omelet and biscuits. They... More

Parking lot was crowded so I u-turned and was rewarded with a great breakfast of huevos rancheros. The atmosphere was that of a neighborhood hangout and a place where regulars abound.

Tasty Omelets. Fast service. Close to RV parks outside of Ruidoso and near Capitan. They serve lunch too (not sure about dinner). We liked it.
