Stopped on our way home from playing in the snow. Nothing fancy, just good simple food and good hot coffee. Friendly and quick service. Recommended.

This restaurant had come recommended for us. We loved that they served breakfast all day because the pancakes and French toast were excellent. The chicken fried steak plate is hearty and rich, so it's not for the light-eaters. The staff was down to earth and approachable.

Had the Fried Catfish and Chicken Fried Steak. Both were great! The CFS had plenty of beef and wasn't just batter. The pinto beans were simple but some of the best I've ever had. The portions were generous, sweet tea was good, and service was prompt. It kinda looks like a hole in the wall place from the highway but... More

This great little restaurant is a short but scenic drive from Ruidoso on the way to the ski mountain. We enjoy a variety of breakfasts with a friendly staff and hearty servings. I enjoy the Huevos Rancheros. Their lunch menu and all you can eat catfish on Friday nights sound great. Some of the staff is supportive of the worthy... More

I've been going here for 10 years and I hope they never close. Basic diner food in a cafe setting, breakfast and lunch with some extended hours. Wonderful service, and they recognize the regulars. As good a cup of coffee as you can get anywhere, actually better than most. Easy place to meet people and take folks out for breakfast.

Great service, great breakfast and about $6 cheaper that yesterday's breakfast 5 miles back down the road in town. Not truly in Alto, I would say about 1/2 way between Ruidoso and Alto on the right.

We make the Alto Cafe our breakfast stop every time we come to the Ruidoso area. It's local down home cooking. Quite often you see the owner in the kitchen. They recently opened for dinner on Friday and Saturdays. The green chile stew was yummy.

We usually stay in the Alto area and this is our standard breakfast stop. You can request anything with a side of or smothered in their delicious green chile sauce. If you love Mexican Food flair on your breakfast, you have to try Alto Cafe!!! Staff is very friendly and you will enjoy the experience.
