Fantastic sea food with best service you could ever get. Walked by the restaurant but didn't go in the first place. Checked at restaurants around and went back here. Good prices and old uncle who welcomes you with good smile makes your day.

Traveling in Varkala off-season brings warnings from many of it's own people, not to eat "just anywhere." I'm so glad I found the Sea Queen & went often during the 10 days there. It was my favorite place to eat not only because the food was excellent, but also because being greeted by the happiest, most peaceful man in Varkala... More

I found it difficult finding authentic Kerala (or even Indian) food in Varkala. Often it it made to suit the tourists (not what I personally are looking for). The elderly gentleman who waiter is adorable. Ask him for suggestions or advice. I only dined here on 3 occasions but very pleased every time (ordered Indian). The fruit juices are made... More

The Sea Queen is not to be missed! Such a gem inside of this quant fishing village. If you want the freshest of fish and the best service- this is the place!

We have eaten here twice now and have been very impressed both times- had the pakora on both visits and it is the best we have had anywhere in Varkala. We are vegetarian so can't speak for the seafood but had curries with rice and chapati on both occasions and both were delicious, very generous portion sizes as well. The... More

Having come to write this review I am surprised to see the other average reviews. We ate here on our second night having been charmed by the front of house waiter the night before. We had beautiful fresh crab masala, jumbo prawns, blue Marlin, fresh chappatis, drinks and a sea view with really friendly staff. A really lovely meal!

The evening we spent at the 'sea queen'. This turned out to be a big disappointent. We entered the restaurant after negotiating a fixed price for a decent fishmeal. The restaurant owner even added two extra prawns, which later turned out to counted 400 roepees each, doubling the bill. Do not eat here. The price/quality ratio is not good!

One thing unique about Varkala is the display of fresh and colourful fish of various variety and sizes in front of many restaurants. The colour and smell certainly draws the seafood lovers invariably. Similar was the case with Sea Queen restaurant at the North Cliff in Varkala. Although none of us was keen for seafood, a chirpy waiter, named Surya,... More

We got lured in by the great display of fresh fish and it was definitely fresh. We agreed a sensible price and went for a few different styles of having it all cooked (at their suggestion I might add). So we waited with our fairly lousy cocktails. The food arrived courtesy of our friendly waiter but we weren't impressed. Rather... More
