The place is a Pub kind of one in Varkala. You have the DJ facing the sea view and a dance floor( normal floor). The food was good and the ambiance was dark and colorful with small lights. The staff are bit rusty. More of a youth kind of Place only open in nights off season.

For a place which lacks any night clubs or pubs, rock and roll cafe has the advantage of providing the dance floor, BUT the advantage stops there!!!! Food is terrible and the service is poor, the cocktails suck. Well the view is same for all the other restaurants on the cliff. Overall i'd dine, wine elsewhere and then maybe finally... More

This cafe has a great ocean view. They also have live performances. I enjoyed the Saturday live DJ. The food is terrible. If you are planning to have few drinks and relax this is a good place.

Poor food. Slow service. Terrible cocktails. However if you want to listen to deep house with a nice view this is your place. The staff are nice bless them... Just a little on the not very good side of bar staff.

It's a place that serves good food. But after a certain point the loud music gives headache. We went inside because of the music and later regretted as we could not hear each other. The service was at snails pace. Took almost 50 mins !!!! They have a open dance floor at the back. Not bad but not recommended.

Lovely spot on the cliff top at Varkala, we did not eat here but it seemed to be very popular with live music on most nights.

This cafe on Varkala Cliff has a beautiful view over the sea, so it's perfect for a drink at sunset. The food is cheap and very tasty and service is excellent, the staff are very friendly and welcoming. What makes it special is that they have live music 2 or 3 times a week, which include open mic sessions, and... More

We didn't hear rock n roll, but the early evening tabla and flute duo was perhaps the best Indian classical music we heard in the month's travels. Shame it switched to brain dead trance, the minute it hit 9pm. Again, not so rock n roll! Cheap cocktails and snacks.
