We ate lunch here on the beach day, since it was very convenient. We left our beach chairs and just walked to eat here. They have showers to clean sand off of your foot. The ambience was really good. Sand on the floor, nice wooden tables and huge umbrellas. You seat yourself. I agree with other reviewers, it took about... More

The first 2 nights were absolutely fantastic. The service was great and the food was good. We loved the atmosphere. The 3rd night was really (really really) bad. It was surprising considering how great the previous 2 nights were. The previous 2 nights were even busier than the 3rd night. The service was just dreadful - we waited ages for... More

The service is horrible so bad our appetizer came in a plastic container and we had no napkins or cutlery. Waited finally walked over to waitress and she just handed it to my daughter. The food is frozen stuff from a bag. Nothing fresh. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time or money.

Disappointing all around. After waiting 15+ minutes for a server to visit the table, our group of 5 adults waited another 15 minutes before a new server informed us our original waitress was "lost in the weeds" and she'd be taking over. After another long wait, an incomplete drink order was delivered with melted ice. The food was decent but... More

As part of the Golden Inn, this is a nice place to visit for some decent food and good drinks in a relaxing atmosphere. This is for a 30+ crowd and if you are looking for a happy hour based on the "pick up crowd" then you simply need to go just next door. The staff is personable and looking... More

Been to the Sandbar numerous times over the years and finally decided to write a review. Stopped there yesterday for a quick lunch and a couple drinks. First off, it's a great place to have drinks, especially for happy hour. Great atmosphere and location. Can't get much closer to the beach. However, I can't recommend that anyone eat here. I... After a day at he Jersey Shore, there is no place on the island we would rather be for Happy Hour then sitting outside at the Sandbar at the Golden Inn. The scene is sunchine, live music and a very mixed crowd all enjoying themselves, each other and the Happy Hour Specials. Come here to have fun!

Stopped by to check out the Sandbar because we heard good things about the atmosphere. Definitely a great outdoors bar. People and staff were friendly. Live music was good and the beer was cold. Walk right off the beach in your swimsuit and cover up or dress either way you will fit right in. What more could you ask for?... More

My daughter recently went for the happy hour at this outdoor bar/eatery which is part of the Golden Inn in Avalon, NJ. Today, we went for lunch. The outdoor area is attractive. A bar and tables in the sand, just steps from the dunes and ocean. After seating ourselves, we tried to get the attention of one of the wait... More
