This place is a true Relais&Chateaux restaurant, class, style, design, with a superb sea view right on the rock. Menue is state of the art, good wine and excellent service. Even if iits speciality is fish, I experienced a state of the art rumstake on hot plate, delicious cabernet sauvignon wine. Far better than eating in a taverna in Opatjia, where prices do not differ too much but service and food quality makes the differnce.

We were charged 10 Euros for the "cover" although it was served as "something special from the chef", did not ask for it and were not informed it was not complimentary. One bottle of water was among the items, although we did not drink water. Octopus salad was very simple and small. Since this is a flagship appetizer in Croatia, it was a bit of disgrace. Otherwise good service and friendly atmosphere but far from a superb place to eat out.

We visited Opatija in February, and as you would expect, it was rather quiet. We didn't know where to eat, so this place was recommended to us by our receptionist at the hotel. I have to say the interior is stunning, and the views are absolutely amazing. As soon as we started walking towards this place I had a great feeling about it. The service was great, and all the staff members were attentive from the moment we walked in. The food didn't disappoint either. We went for the seafood option, and every dish we had was beautifully presented, and delicious. Especially the sea bass we had as a main course. I love how the fish is displayed in the dining section for customers to chose what they want. Our waiter knew a lot about wines, and recommended some great options. Overall a great experience, and I would definitely eat here again. Beautiful.

Very Good Food - Nice Views - Terrible Service

If you don't mind aweful service and only care for very good, freshly and carefully prepared food, this is the restaurant in Opatija. The ambience is very stylish and tasteful, and almost all tables have nice views over the bay. The menu offers mainly fish and seafood but also some meat dishes. Some of the fish and crustacean are alive in fishtanks, some presented on ice including French and local oysters; I tried the latter and loved it! We had Ceviche and oysters for starters, then a fish consommé, which was almost perfect if it weren't for the zucchini, and pasta with local scampi as well as meat for mains - all very, very good. This is where the good news stop. The service is at best up to a 3* hotel, certainly not 5*. The amuse gueule (which was nothing to write home about) was served before we have even ordered our dishes, and starters were served practically at the same time as the amuse gueule plates were cleared. The message was obvious: please don't stay in our restaurant for very long. The waiters knew very little if anything about their wines, which was then served too warm. Two of three waiters were uninterested and indifferent to say the least. Beware of the waiter with the earrings, he will ruin your evening with his rudeness and lack of manners and knowledge! Given that level of service, the restaurant is not good value for money, and we will certainly not return nor recommend it.

By far the worst experience in a restaurant ever

We were recommended this restaurant by a friend and that is why what happened comes as a bigger surprise. Namely this is supposed to be a five star fine dining restaurant, yet we found a hair in our dish and when we told the waiter about it, he just said: "Oh, yes", and went away. Consternated by his response, we called the manager who came and apologized, and offered us not to pay for that dish. Thanks genius, of course I am not going to pay for the dish with a hair in it. He should have made an extra step for us to feel better. At lease that is my experience with high class restaurants, which this one is far from. ..Instead of feeling reassured we rushed to finish the wine, and ran away, never to come back...

Worst costumer experience ever… We ordered some drinks including a Sex on the Beach and a Mojito as well which usually contains white rum, limes, lemons and sugar. Now the latter was missing so we technically got some white rum with sparkling water with a slice of lemon. When we asked the waiter what was wrong with our Mojito we got a rude side eye and a comment on our taste… We agreed to get one more Sex on the Beach which, for some reason, completely differed from the previous one in color (one was orange, the other magenta). Whatever. Not to mention that when we got the bill we saw the nasty Mojito on it as well.

The worst service I ever had !!!! Don’t go here if you don’t like to pay 10 EUROS! For bread and butter . They bring it in the beginning and don’t tell you that it’s not free With the prices of 30 euro for 1 plate at least bread should have been free On top of that it was impossible to get attention of the waiter I’m so disappointed that I wasted my time at this restaurant

The only good thing in this restaurant is the view. And the chairs were comfortable. The food was just poor, for a restaurant that is supposed to be 5 stars. We ordered three soups, all of them had a wierd and not a fresh taste. We also had pasta with “scampi”, but they were not scampi. They were shrimps. Then, we had some grilled fish. It is a shame that a fish of that quality was ruined, and not cooked properly. It was overcooked and looked like a mess when it came to the table. It tasted like it was fried, not grilled. Now we come to pay the bill. They put in the bill that the fish was 1,700 kg heavy. It was max 1,100 kg, not a gram more. They also charged us for olive oil which is on EVERY TABLE??? and you don’t have to use it. So why did they charge us for olive oil? Overall we expected a lot more, but obviously we were wrong. Back in the day this restaurant was the real deal. Only thing left from that is the name.

Bevanda bar is defined as wine bar, a wine bar with poor selection of wines by glass - few indigenous malvasias and several cabernet sauvignons, good ones but for a bar that defines itself as a wine bar, as well as part of a luxurious hotel, the selection of wines by glass is under any standard and at a price far from being reasonable. I would define it as underestimating the guest. The waiters should be experienced ones, not some any kind girls or boys in their early twenties not knowing anything about wines or spirits.

We were there with a baby - incredibly unfriendly staff! Our baby was a nuisance, which is why we took turns to push the stroller in the harbor - when my husband and I were with the baby, the waiter asked my parents if the kitchen should wait with the main course - when my parents politely said "yes please, the baby is very difficult right now!" the waiter came after 5 minutes and told them that the food in the kitchen was already ready and was being served now. So why did he even ask? For 4 starters, 4 main courses and a bottle of wine - paid €400 - which is OK, but 2 people's food was good, 2 people's was too salty. At first glance the ambience seems cool and casual - on closer inspection you notice that it is dirty and the waiters are inattentive! For example, after the "greeting from the kitchen" I didn't get any new cutlery... I had to take it from the table next to me (where there were no guests). Unfortunately I can't recommend the restaurant.

There was a mandatory 6 Euro “Couvier” on the last page of the menu (that was not disclosed in advance). This consisted of 1 shrimp tempura. I don’t eat shrimp and no other option was offered. Then, I ordered the same steak as 1 of my companions. Mine was 1/3 fat and his had none. Our waiter (he wore glasses but didn’t give his name) responded to my comment about the excess fat on the steak with “it’s just bad luck” Rude, inconsiderate, and unconcerned can describe our waiter. I would never go back.

We went to the beach club and had lunch there in the pizzeria. First of all the beach club is very nice in a beautiful location right by the sea. In general, the service staff is very friendly. We had rented two sunbeds for 70 € including two bottles of water. That was okay from our point of view, because we were first location right on the sea. At noon we went to the pizzeria and sat down. We waited about 15 minutes for the menu, after that we had to wait another 30 minutes to order and another 30 minutes for the pizza to arrive. This was not due to the professional waitress , she was just overwhelmed, because she had to do everything alone. The colleagues in charge of bar or hotel, for example, did not help her. She ran through the beach club and pizzeria and had to take orders from the outside. The pizzas were very good. Only unfortunately the store is very badly managed, otherwise these waiting times would not happen. We would still go back because the beach area is beautiful.

Beautiful setting. Restaurant was very cool decor. Our waiter was rude and unhelpful. Tomahawk steak for two was ordered medium rare as advised by rude waiter and it came out rare, barely warm in parts!!! On the positive side the scampi pasta was delicious. But wouldn’t recommend. Expensive!!!

One of the worst seafood restaurants ever. My first impression was it’ll be bad lunch as I’ve entered into empty restaurant at busy time for lunch on Sundays. No fish on display at all & when brought was barely acceptable. When food was brought it was raw near head. Langostines were old, one spoiled. Waiter did not know which olive oil to recommend for kids regarding bitterness. Fish and langostines were cold by the time fish was filleted by waiter. Restaurant is one big fake. They live & work on old fame. Place to avoid if you do not want to pay expensive food & low quality plus stuff looking like amateurs in nice ambient. During lunch we sensed bad smell of some kind of gases or burning at some point we were thinking to get up & leave as stuff was laying around floor and looking beneath furniture what’s wrong with equipment near by, I was expecting fire or explosion soon to be honest.

Very nice restaurant uniquely located directly in the small harbor in Opatija, just a few meters from the sea, with staggering views on Rijeka and water. Either you can use the bar/lounge or restaurant with mostly sea food. Not so many choices, but food of good quality in a restaurant, which was quite nicely designed and decorated. A place to visit, if you go to have a nice romantic evening in downtown.
