We were eating twice at the restaurant. The 1. Sometimes without Reservation and even there the friendly waiter has tried for us to find a table and at the 2. Time with Reservation. Since the restaurant is always very well attended, I recommend to reserve a table.
The food is sensational!! The grilled lamb chops are very expensive, we shared the portion and would both be well fed. Also the tuna tartare for 2 we can only recommend. The service is very friendly but not intrusive. We were more than satisfied. Thanks for the nice evenings. We will definitely come back.

Ruzmarin was the best dinner my girlfriend and I have had in years. We had to leave America and go to Croatia to make it happen. The rustic ambience and the fresh fish were excellent. We had grilled calamari vegetables and sea bass that was perfectly done and served by Andrea who took care of our every request in a timely manner. If ever you want to treat yourself and a special someone for a wonderful dinner this is the place you should not miss in Croatia.

Very good food and reasonable prices. We ordered the seafood pizza which was very good. For dessert we had the strawberry cheesecake and homemade ice cream which was incredible. The service took a while but that could be because the restaurant was full, the kind waiter and tasty food outweighs the time we had to wait to be served our food. Overall an amazing experience, be sure to book in advance.

We went there spontaneously and were seated in a windowless room next to the toilet. As we had just arrived and the restaurant had been recommended as very good by our accommodation provider, we stayed. We decided on the fish platter for 2 people. We waited for almost 50 minutes and then got an unappetizing pile of various fish. Scallops, mussels, squid, scampi and fish fillet. Apart from the fact that everything was swimming in fat, the only thing that was really edible was the fish fillet. We have been getting to Opatija for more than 15 years and a visit to Ruzmarin has always been on the agenda. Unfortunately, there have been two exorbitant price increases since the introduction of the euro. This year, the portions have also become much smaller. Highly rated restaurant in Opatija and we had high hopes when we went there. Unfortunately, I have to say, that the restaurant does not maintain the quality that we expect.
We were 4 adults who ate a starter and a main course. Ignorant staff who couldn't even recommend a wine for our hot dishes.
Seafood pasta that was missing half of the ingredients according to the menu and the ones served was totally destroyed/over cooked.
The sirloin steak that was ordered was a fillet of beef, which was also cold. Angus beef burger totally tasteless. The tuna was the only thing that was okay but no more unfortunately. We chose to skip dessert as we lost our appetite. The restaurant does not live up to our expectations and a major upgrade is required to even reach an average level.
We didn’t had the energy to send back the food to the kitchen because we realized that the level wouldn’t change. It looks good on the surface but as soon as you scratch at it the limitations become clear, especially when it comes to service, passion, knowledge and pride in what they serve.
Overall this was just another tourist trap where it’s clear they just want to tick off as many bills for the evening as possible.

We loved Ruzmarin...great atmosphere slightly off the beaten path so away from the crowds. The mixed grill - sausages, lamb chop, chicken wing and other delectables - was a great way to try a bunch of different local specialties at a surprisingly fair price. My other family members loved their meals too.

We waited the whole holiday to go there because the first two attempts were full and we were expected at 21:30 to clear the table... We got a bit old for late dinner;-).
But the last night, the last night was "the gift" that raised the level of satisfaction of the whole holiday. Eaten very well (Recommend lamb chops), drank even better and the staff proved absolutely up to the occasion.

Was here with my wife who has celiac disease and this place was recommended because of its glutenfree options. We informed the waiter when we ordered that the soup should be made without gluten. Luckely my wife checked before eating because the soup contained pasta. The respons of the waiter was a careless sorry and not assuring my wife nor me. 5 min after he was back with a new warm soup but, since we were sceptical in terms of his disregard of the dangers connected to eating food with gluten eatlier we needed confirmation that the new soup was not contaminated. The waiter was clearly annoyed of us even asking and i was close to paying the bill and leaving.
Food was ok and diversity great but, would not recommend this place as it clearly has had issues with waiters before (Previous reviewes) and still has them.

Lovely food - Tartuf Burger seemed to be missing one or two ingredients ('sauce'? 'cheese'?) but still appetising. Very negative experience. The environment is nice and the staff friendly, but the cuisine absolutely insufficient; we wanted to dine on fish, starting with a mixture of shellfish buzara that turned out to be a broth of water, wine, garlic and carrots (carrots in the buzara???) with mussels without taste and in very small quantities (compared to the 400 gr described in the menu...). The mixed grill that followed was even worse: cold food, burnt squid and vegetables on the side reduced to a mush. In 30 years of frequenting this area I have never seen such a havoc. We have been coming to the restaurant for over 10 years and it has a top quality and has developed great! The menu offers something for everyone, especially for the barbecue specialties they are famous, but also the pasta and pizza are a treat!! The ambience is very nice and the service is wonderful. Ruzmarin finds a nice way to combine a relaxed atmosphere with high-class cuisine! The chef impresses with creativity, his Šurlice with scampi and truffles was a rarely seen composition that you would love to devour and order again straight away.
It was an all-round successful evening.
The Malvasia house wine is very well-rounded and less dry than usual. The service was excellent and very accommodating even though the closing time was getting closer and closer.

A very wide selection of meat, fish and grilled dishes from both Croatian and Italian cuisine. Also, pastas and pizzas. Everyone will find something for themselves. Food very good, service professional and quick, nice atmosphere. I recommend making reservations in advance
