A nice suprise to find such a good resturant with japanische food on this island. We had beatiful table on their terrase. Great service overall. We started off with a sushi tuna plate and a mix of different special maki plates (four portions). Excellent, tasty as and very well prepared. Along we had a good bottle of SB cloudy bay. Even if the starter was quite a lot we decided to try the rahmen as well, this was not as good, was not bad but i guess we expected it as perfect as the starters. It is not a cheap japan experiance for us two with one bottle of wine came out to 200 euro. The resturant is part the 5 star belleave hotel.

We live on Losinj and been to the restaurant over the years since it opened. First time, shortly after it opened, was spectacular and we thought the island had a gem. We have, unfortunately, been a fair few more times and it has got progressively worse. Tonight was the worst by far. Waiters were friendly but the food was mediocre and the time taken to deliver the food ridiculously slow, considering the restaurant wasn’t even that busy. We certainly at times felt tables around us were getting preferential service and attention! We were having to refill our own drinks and our second coarse took approximately an hour. Finally, our bill turned up and they managed with some strange excuse to add €10 when we split it? The manager offered some feeble reason and offered a bottle of wine in exchange for the overcharging. (Same value). Really won’t be returning again unfortunately, back to the search to find something a little different on Losinj that is actually worth a visit!!!

Matsunoki is a restaurant that every true Japanese food lover should definitely visit. The quality of the food is perfect. Rice excellently cooked, correct tempreature and perfectly seasoned. The wine list is varied with a large selection of wines by the glass. What gives this restaurant an additional benefit is the really professional and friendly staff that you will rarely meet.

Overpriced Restaurant is my first comment. They do not have a online menu for that reason. The prices are in the range of michelin star but the food is not. On top the price in the menu is not the one you pay as there is 5% service charge which is not the tip this is noted someplace at the end of the menu. Portions are small as can get, starters 24 euro and the ceviche was not much and too sour while the gyoza was decent but only four. As it is a japanische Restaurant we ordered 4 portions of different maki which was ok but it was so little that we had order more so we took two more starters. We shared at the end dessert. Their wine list is huge and I took a bottle of the cheaper white wine for only 55 euro and then made the mistake to order two glasses of wines at the end as recommended by their sommelier at a crazy price of 16 euro per glass as I saw at the end. With a small tip it was just over 300 euro for the two. Staff is friendly as was service, the Terrasse is nice.

A japanischen resturant is always a interesting find on the coast, in the hotel belleave nicely designed but quite expensive. Food is decent but portions are not very big. We started off with gyoza as starter and had diffirent uramaki For mains. One nigiri is 10 euro so do take care when ordering. Wine list is good, good sauvignom blanc radovan from istria along not cheap 60 euro per bottle. Total for the two of us was close to 300 euro so expensive. Service is good.

Wagyu A5 steak was unreal, maybe the best we've ever had. The wine selection was pretty extensive and had a good mix of all regions. Overall we were very happy with the restaurant. The only knock is that whether you sit inside or outside there's a good chance you'll end up with the stench of cigarette smoke from other guests who appear to chain smoke their way through dinner, which is a bit annoying when spending this kind of money on a meal as the smoke dampens the taste buds.

Im in love with Japanese cuisine and that’s why i went to this restaurant. I tried miso soup, Gyoza with chicken, sushi set with different types of them that u can choose by yourself. Sushi with truffle prawns were so good! For desert i ordered Matcha Soufflé and chocolate Matsunoki(the presentation of the dish was cool). The interior is fascinating and modern. Sure that’s i’ll come back.

We had a big dinner at Matsunoki during the Easter Holidays and decided to go back the next evening since the food was first class and so was the staff. Waitresses and waiters, the sommelier, the chefs all work as a team to make the guests dinner as memorable as it can be! The chosen ingredients, the display of the dish, the taste and all that paired with the right wine with the help of the sommelier assures for a unforgettable evening! If you get the chance to go to Matsunoki you should! We will definitely be back!

Overpriced japanese wannabe restaurant. Turist trap for rich Russians. Unfortunately I’m not. A very small portion of otherwise quite tasty shrimp tartare was drowned in fish sauce (“salsa”). Waiter constantly trying to push tuna tartare (which was propably something to “must sell” that evening) no matter that we declined it a couple of times. And then we ended with the same tuna tartar in our huramaki rolls :( Foie gras on nigiri definately does not have a place. Absolutely murdered with salt. Rice in sushi isn’t sushi rice, so we ended up with unfolding sushi rolls. Rice wasn’t seasoned properly either and it had absolutely no stickiness. Since japanese cusine is also a visual enjoyment, it is unaccectable that, when we ask for huramaki selection, we end up with only two flavors (one with tuna tartar) on eight rolls. Over the top of that, serving an unesthetic end of roll without half of filling in something you simply cannot allow in that price range restaurant. Wine list is ridiculously overpriced, also the waiter almost forgot to point out an excellent sake selection, no matter that we explicitly said that we want to drink only sake: sake list was presented to us when we asked for it the second time, while the wine list was left on the table for the whole time of our meal. Deserts, on the contrary, were impeccable, as if they came from a different kitchen. Too little too late!

Now this is a great new addition here at The Bellevue hotel. The interior design is great, with a fantastic sushi counter and open kitchen with a “green egg”. But they also have an outside terrace. The sushi rolls are great, but my favorite dishes are the green curry and the beef noodles. We have been there several times during our holiday and have never been disappointed. The wine selection is great and you even find wines from Austria that fit greatly with the spicy dishes - also try the Hugel Gentil, which has a great value for money. Enjoy!

Recently opened with a beautiful interior and relaxing atmosphere. Outdoor seating also available. I adore japanese so this place is a discovery for me. One of the best Japanese restaurants I have ever visited. Great service, fresh ingredients and wonderfully presented. Great menu choice. Will be back for sure!! Drinks a little bit pricey but in general, excellent value considering the overall quality.... simply perfect!
